Title: What do you make of this slight (!) overbet, paired flop? Post by: WYSINWYG on July 09, 2008, 03:21:41 PM 1/1 Cash game. I have 150 as does Villain. Villain and I been at table for 30 mins together. Has made some plays on me, twice bluffing in position. I turned a K holding AK and villain chkraise semibluffed open ended straight draw but I looked him up for about 40 dollar pot, immediately before the following hand.
Villain, limps button. Me, 3xBB raise on big blind with AJ o. Only Villain calls. Flop 44J rainbow. I bet 2/3 of pot, Villain instantly reraises all in (150 dollars) into 12 dollar pot So I'm torn between 'I will make random plays when I like especially when tilting and this is one of them, who hits trips and places a '**** off bet?' and 'Look at my bet it's so large it can't be trips therefore you should call with your top pair top kicker; oops waddyaknow, I got trips'. Any thoughts? Title: Re: What do you make of this slight (!) overbet, paired flop? Post by: boldie on July 09, 2008, 03:29:03 PM 1/1 Cash game. I have 150 as does Villain. Any thoughts? I hate people who bet like that; Either they have the set and won't get paid unless they're very lucky (and therefore ussually lose oney by making this play) or they have F A and get looked up by someone who actually has the 4. it's a stupid bet IMO and people who make them are ussually terrible players. I fold and take their money when they try it again...and they almost always do. Title: Re: What do you make of this slight (!) overbet, paired flop? I was trying to make an equation....decent player + failed previous move + very strange bet = tilt = bluff = call. Title: Re: What do you make of this slight (!) overbet, paired flop? I fold here. If he is bluffing good luck to him for that 12$. I don't mind the call here but would be more inclined to believe he has something rather than not. Much hilarity when he did show........ |
