Here are my notes from the BOE meeting:
Inflation is rising
But we're heading for a recession
But inflation is rising
Recession!
Inflation!
Recession!
Inflation!

Fck it. Let's do nothing and go for a pint.
Good idea.

Good news that it didn't go up for me.  I'm in the middle of re-mortgaging and whilst the figures have all been agreed, I'd like them to remain steady until it goes through, it's been a big enough increase as it is.

Yep, we went from 4.95 to 6.09 :(  The variable rate that NR wanted to give me was lolable.

Mine we similar so we decided to pay off the mortgage instead of keeping it as a nest egg for later life. Unless you have decent equity in your house the deals are often alot worse than that quoted.

Yes, I'm waiting until I see evicted families standing out in the street crying before moving in. :)

Got decent equity, sadly not a decent amount to pay it all off.  To be mortgage free would be so nice.

One day.......in 16 years lol

Autotrader is raking it in...but then they have top staff and the best website and business out there...miles ahead of the competition, so they are.

Not noticed a huge change over the past 6 months to be honest.  There's a trend towards smaller and more economical cars in general, but those that can afford more expensive cars still have that disposable income and so still seem to be buying.

More and more people turning to leasing rather than outright purchase.

Allegedly, the cost of motoring has actually decreased over the past 10 years:  http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7496381.stm - I think that's largely bull though, and probably reflects the fact that more people are looking at smaller or more economical cars.  It's a study from the RAC, who obviously have a vested interest.

Surely its not going to be a pretty place to be living if that happens - even for those of us who might be able to start off by picking up a bargain.

May have to look back into emigrating to Aus!
