Hi.
Moving into a brand new property soon and I would like a good Phone/Broadband package, but I don't want to have to wait 3 weeks for it. Apparently, I have to pay BT £125 to have the line activated, and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good broadband package that could be up and running in days rather than in weeks.
If not, in the meantime, how do I go about getting dial up and is it any good?
Not had any luck so far, any advice would be appreciated.

I own an IT & Comms company we are a virgin reseller pm me ur postcode if you want me to check for you and we also supply ADSL installs i.e BT lines...do you have a bt line installed already ?

I checked my future postcode and there is no cable available for that area.
The place I am moving to is new and has a phone point in the lounge, but I'm pretty sure I will have to pay BT to activate the line and give me a number.
BT themselves say they can get me up and running with Broadband within 5-7 days of the line being activated. Seems like my only option unless I wait 3 weeks or longer.
Or maybe I'm wrong?

Okay - some may regard it as spam because i work for them - but I have found Sky's tel and broadband package to be really good value - and quick....

I talked to Sky, they told me minimum 3 weeks.

I moved into a new property 2 years ago,you can't do anything until you get your BT line activated.I had to pay the £125 charge too,which is a complete rip off.

We moved into a new property in January.

The next day we had our phone line activated/installed by bt and our sky all up and running.

We have our broadband through sky too and despite them telling us it would be 14 days for activation we were actually online within 5 days of our phone line being put in.

Is Sky Broadband stable yet?..Mrs B works for the dark side and though we get it for free I still don't use it.

OK, so I also work for them, and have the option of free Sky Broadband - but I don't take it.......  Too many teething problems at the mo.

Sorry - missed this!  Still a lot of complaints - but could be in line with other providers now

I have never had an issue with sky broadband its never crashed or disconnected me at any time when i've been playing poker.
