Title: Re: virtual memory Post by: Raindogs on July 26, 2008, 08:05:42 PM Probably best to use a system managed Pagefile. If you are using XP you can set the Pagefile to a System Managed size which should automatically adjust the Pagefile to ensure your PC always has sufficient Virtual memory.
Goto Control Panel -> System -> Advanced and then hit the Settings button in the Performance frame. You will get a Performance Options popup. Select the Advanced tab and at the bottom you will see a Virtual Memory frame at the bottom. Click on the Change button and select System Managed Size, then click Set. You will then need to re-boot. XP should then set your Pagefile according to the amount of RAM you have installed and your memory usage.
