Don't talk about barbeques Kev - had to call the fire-brigade last night after the old dears' gas barbie decided to do a flamethrower impression. It's a volunteer brigade up here, they were at the house in 5 minutes & most were friends of mine - I'll take a lot of stick down the street tonight :(

They're getting a charcoal BBQ next time!

Charcoal FTW!!!

Can't beat charcoal Rod, gas is too clean. No smoke, no soot, no flavour.

you need the smokey flavour charcoal gives to do a proper barbeque....and you can buy the 5£ throwaway ones if you don't have a permanent one :)

Got to agree about the charcoal, I don't often regret buying something but my gas barbecue was definitely a mistake. Not the same flavour at all even with those hickory chips you can throw on.

Not only is a gas BBQ unsatisfying, mine seems to want to be a flame thrower instead (my sister has the same one, it's just as bad), a total nightmare to cook on.

I have a feeling it will get lost on the way to the new house.

But it looks like water - must be harmless.

Remember do not ever mix number 1 and number 2 from the list.

It's OK.

My mates have a bit of a JD obsession though and bought a huge steak from costco and then marinated it in half a bottle of JD... that was nice!

I completely agree with you, boldie & Ginger.

The folks got it for ease & cos they felt they were getting old.

The new one will be this http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/son-of-hibachi-bbq/index.html?&gclid=CIrKsurj3pQCFQyN1QoduWdRQw (http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/son-of-hibachi-bbq/index.html?&gclid=CIrKsurj3pQCFQyN1QoduWdRQw) - not for that price though.

I bought one of these from there, cheap and brilliant, much better than paying a few quid each time for the disposable ones
