it's been a long time since I bought from ebay. what sort of % positive feedback am I looking for to tell me I'm probably on safe ground with a particular company?

Bolt has 25%..so anything in that area and you'll be fine :)

so 1935 @ 99.1% is pretty good then I guess.

yes, though do check out the feedback from the last month isn't all shit...if it is something's up.

Sounds ok to me. When checking feedback you can click on their feedback score and view all their feedback. Best thing to do is look at the table at the top for the last 12 months and click on the number under negative to bring all their negative feedback up on the next page. You can then see why they have received negative feedback during the past 12 months.
Since April or May Ebay changed the way they calculate feedback percentages, it now only takes into account the past 12 months feedback for the percentage figure and is calculated by the number of positive feedbacks divided by the sum of all positive feedbacks, neutral feedbacks and negative feedbacks.
