P.s I know they say you shouldn't bet on friendlys but you can get 13/10 on Liverpool for todays match- Rangers have a HUGE champions league qualifier on tuesday and are sure to rest a lot of our "star" players! The game is potentially worth £10m. plus Benitez says Robbie Keane will start alongsode Torres today. I also got on spurs yesterday at 5/4 against Celtic which I again thought was huge- I dont even think Celtic had a shot the whole game.

Shameful result tonight. Price paid for playing anti football against diddy teams. If we'd actually tried to win the game we would have, Kaunas are pish. Season fcked and it's not even started yet, little hope of this sorry lot challenging in the league either. This will probably also mean no more new signings, no decent ones any way, and possibly the departure of Cuellar to bring in the money that won't come from Europe.

Not sure of the amount but it should tighten Celtic's grip on the SPL crown for at least the next two seasons and help them increase the gap between the two OF clubs.  ;madasahatstand;

Dutch, German and French newspapers are all reporting that the police unions are threatening strike action.

This is because of fears that they might have to lay-off hundreds of members of the riot police because Rangers were knocked out of Europe.

Nearly crashed the car today when I heard Christian Dailly quoted as saying he thought it was a decent effort by Rangers last night. Well Mr Dailly I can only say GFY, if any player who played in either leg thinks that effort was decent they should NEVER play for the club again. Surely an experienced pro like Dailly should know when it's best to say nothing and keep his head down.

Personally I would ship him off to Yeovil or somewhere else as far away, make him walk there, and I'd happily walk behind him kicking his good for nothing arse every step of the way. ;grr; 

Dailey is absoutley shocking, easily in the top 3 worst rangers players of all time, he cant pass, slow as a week in the jail, always giving away fouls in dangerous areas cos of his lack of speed. we couldnt even pay yeovil to take him off our hands. a total disgrace that he gets the honour of pulling on a rangers shirt

Christian Dailly has played 67 games for Scotland, 160 odd games for West Ham in tougher leagues and so has been highly rated in his time

he's now 34 though, so perhaps its the manager's fault for selecting him past his prime. I am sure he was doing his best.

TBH Tighty I've watched Dailly since he was a young striker at Dundee Utd & have never rated him - grafter? yes - footballer? No. I even saw him play for Celtic the one game he did.

I'm not disagreeing with you Rod as such..he always seemed a bit lacking to me..but 200 odd games in the EPL and 67 caps for his country, plus first choice for Rangers at age 34 suggests I've been missing something along the way.....

as usual after disappointing results its easy to find a scapegoat, a lightning rod for our dissatisfaction..happens all over football....but there is another side to the story, which is that those that count thought him good enough to be picked int he first palce

Best explained by workrate & a verstility (works hard in every position) that makes him valuable to struggling sides (I include Scotland through most of the times he's been playing as well). He is however limited as far as football ability goes & as his legs go will be more and more a liability. (Reminds me of the quote about Carlton Palmer - "He covers every blade of grass out there,” said Saints manager, Dave Jones. “But that’s only because his first touch is so crap.” )

Dailly's also caused fury up here by criticising the other players in the papers, after giving away the freekick & the corner both Kaunas goals came from he should know it's time to STFU, keep his head down & try and play his way back into the good books.

Smith looked to steady the ship last year, arguably Celtic had outworked Rangers the 2 seasons before, so he went for grafters, and grafters he knew personally (from his Scotland boss spell). The problem is grafters won't lift a team when they're struggling, someone with flair is needed.

Sorry if it looks like I'm making Dailly a scapegoat, I'm not, I just cannot believe any Rangers player would have the brass neck to come out and call that display a decent effort. I've never really rated Dailly but he's a decent enough utility player with a lot of experience, it's that experience which makes such a comment so completely unbelievable.

There were a few who didn't perform and Dailly was one of them, the difference between him and the others is that they've not tried to defend the performance. Lee McCulloch in particular was very honest in his appraisal of the display last night.

GTF Christian Daily...and take Adam, Weir, Mcculloch, Broadband, and even Whitaker with you...nowhere near good enough

He played 400 games for Spurs in the top division and won a few cups with us as well.

I hope you improve from the game against Spurs, your lot were woeful and clueless against a team that were at 40%

Preseason we have been poor for a few years. We have used many players and not stuck everyone upfront towards the end when getting beat.

We will see how good we are once the season starts. Hope we play how we finished last year rather than some of the poorer standard seen in the middle of the season.

I've seen some much more appropriate comments attributed to Christian Dailly on teletext this morning. It does however coincide with suggestions that he is one of about six or seven about to be shipped as they are no longer required to bolster a squad participating in Europe. Very concerning though that Kris Boyd is also tipped for the exit door, IMO should never have signed Kenny Miller unless the intention was to play him with Boyd.

 agree about Miller and Boyd, they should play together.  Think its disgusting how Miller doesnt get stick for working hard but not even looking like scoring in every game so far yet Boyd struggles to get on because he doesnt work but always looks like scoring.
