Title: Queens
Post by: snoopy1239 on July 30, 2008, 09:58:14 PM
Never played against Villain before and we're thirty minutes in. Table's been pretty straight forward so far with few big pots, although have spotted villian raise a few times preflop and take it down on flop.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (6 handed)

Button ($200.00)
SB ($128.04)
BB = Hero ($260.60)
UTG ($41)
UTG+1 ($81.15)
Cut-off = Villiain ($235.85)

Preflop: Hero is dealt Qd Qh
UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, Villian raises to $7, Button folds, SB folds, Hero reraises to $20, Villian calls.

Flop: ($38.95) Jc Jd 9h (2 players)
Hero bets $26.75, Villian raises to $53.50, Hero calls.

Turn: ($145) 3c  (2 players)
Hero checks, Villian bets $125

(1) What do we do here?

(2) Would you have played the hand differently?

deffo more pre to 25 or summat. As played i think u played it well given villains aggressive nature, but v a lot of donks this is like 100% 99 or a jack.

Dude, you gotta reraise way more preflop.  A standard raise OOP here would be $25-26, you are a tiny bit deeper than normal so i'd err on the side of aggression.  It makes the stack to pot ratio post flop a lot easier since the bet sizing works out conveniently (2/3 pot, pot).  Anyway, the flops fine imo.  On the turn you essentially have a bluff catcher so yeah get it in since he bluffs with a ton of pairs here imo.
