Yay, I've been waiting for this thread.  Although I'm not sure why, I'm pretty sure Luton is a dump with no where good to go out.  Anyone care to correct me on that?

I absolutely detest karaoke but that friday night was absolutely fantastic. if I'm about for the friday I'll definitely be there for it again as will you boldie, we're all on mrs b's side on this one

The venue choices for karaoke in Luton on a Friday appear to be:

Compassess, Hibbert Arms, The Barn Owl or The Beer Engine   
 
Any locals know any of these places - any good?

flame the gay club/pub a short walk from the casino does karaoke other than that why not have a woed with the casino see if they will get a karoake as there friday night entertainment

yeah!..Karaoke in the casino!...(OK, I would ussually hate that but now it would suit my purpose so it's OK) :)

I was at the Compasses a few Saturdays back for the Karaoke. It was a great night. It's a nice, friendly little pub not far from the casino at all and has a good atmosphere.

And really. When you've got a group of you, it's normally always fun. Then you've got your mainstream clubs like Chicagos and Liquid. A nice venue called the Green Room is newly opened in town that's a bit more quieter and that the 18-20 yo's generally avoid. You could probably arrange for them to have Karaoke for you. I'd imagine they would.

I live in Luton and work at the G, so I can answer your questions if you've got any. PMs preferred, because I'm likely to miss questions here.

The place we used for karaoke in Nottingham was hardly a palace and was dead until we took over, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have been on any of our 'places to go' normally.

Still turned out to be a top night though  :D

Oh he'll be there!  We ended up at a Karaoke "by mistake" on Saturday night and whilst he winced and growled all night, I could see through that.  He was just dying to get up and sing Right Said Fred.  I'm sure between us, we can persuade him to succomb to that temptation.........

The karaoke was awful on Saturday night....hated every minute of it.

I'm not falling for Boldie's little girl act.  He won't succumb (and yes we can spell it)...he'll be leading the charge.

To be honest, Luton doesnt quite have the same appeal to me as Notts did (No "karaoke" and no fabled 4:1 women:men ratio) so I will probbaly be partaking in some bevergaes at the casino.

the majority of the itb boy cannot make the bash footie and poker tourni on saturday due to prior appointment at the poccer grand finals in birmingham but that wont stop us enjoying the usual friday night jolly up.

They said they can open up a sidedoor for you to have better access, but there's just this small, two inch step for you to navigate. He said he can't put a ramp down but that the step is very small and with a little help shouldn't be a problem?

one step of 2 in is no problem its basically the same as a kerb on a road

Spoke to the landlord and he said he has other wheelchair users get along the whole night fine. I am going to go stop by as I walk down to work to better see the step for myself.

the karoake is in a room at the rear with a pool table as well. you can get in through a side door or even go through the side gate and in through the rear. its 1 step

you can also smoke just outside the rear door.
