Firstly, I 'm not sure if this should be in this section, so apologies if wrong.

I'm a microstakes player.  I don't play a huge amount, so I'm not talking about spending 8 hours a day playing 10 tables at a time.

But I've recently reassessed my game, and, starting from scratch, I want to build myself a 'roll.  ;carlocitrone;

So from $40 a couple of months ago, I'm up to $350.  Which is nice.  But it's sloooow.  ;sleep;

I single table stts and some 45, 90, and 180 seat sngs.  At microstakes - $2, $3, $5, & $10.  I get to play 2-3 hours a time, 3 or 4 times a week.

Now I'm assuming the best way to progress is to learn to multitable.  And I've tried.  But I'm crud at it.  Just don't seem to get it at all.  Does that mean that a) I'm just doing it wrong, but there's an easy way to learn. Or b) I'm just naturally not coordinated enough, so just lie back and crawl my way to what tiny success my meagre talents can be expected to achieve ?

I'm not wanting to go pro, or even semi pro.  But I do think it's about time I took the game more seriously, and earned my good lady a bit of pocket money to thank her for letting me ignore her. ( Or maybe I should just charge her direct - '' pay me, or I'll spend more time with you ''   ;whistle;)

I've thought about Cardrunners and all that btw, but to get anything from it, I'm assuming you need to have time to put into it.  And given the cost element, I'm reckoning that my profit rate wouldn't go up enough to justify it.

My bankroll management isn't too bad - I'll go up the stakes everytime I reach another $100, then drop down again if I lose 3 or 4 on the trot.  I'm currently at $2 & $3 MTSNGs or $5 STTs, having been up to over $400, but lost a few $10 games so I've dropped back again.

Any advice , please.

Regarding multitabling for me personally i just added an extra table at a time, well more like 2 at a time once i got over 6. So don't try 4 tables off the bat, but just try 2. With most people it is just a case of feeling more comfortable with your game, so you can make decisions quicker. Everyone has a breaking point i 16 tabled continoulsy yesterday and that was too much and i was all over the place. Yet im very comfy 12 tabling in sets.

Problem with cardrunners is that it is quite a large % of your bankroll, yet that and other sites will definitley help your game, so its an option. There are tonnes of free resources on the internet, post hands yourself that you are unsure about, possibly find a friend who is a poker player to discuss hands with.

In regards to Cardrunners you can get a day pass for $15 or $20 i believe. This would give you a good idea of what you'd get. I'm a member of both CR and PXF and if i'm honest i probably don't use them anywhere near the amount that I should/thought i would when I signed up, which is a shame.

Like Longy says with multi-tabling just add one at a time and don't add more until you're comfortable. I used to think that i'd never play more than two at a time, now I play 4 when i'm having a quiet session and up to eight on, say a Sunday. When i'm multi-tabling I make sure i'm in the same seat at each table i'm seated at, make use of the auto fold button and have a semi-loose system where, if i'm priotising one table over another (say if i'm deep or approaching/on the bubble) i'll move that table to the top right of the screen.

Do you cascade or tile ( or whatever they call it ) ?

Tile on sites which don't have auto queuing (where the tables are brought to the front in order of decision), party for example. Cascade on tilt and stars where the software is in the 21st century/
