Title: WSOPE
Post by: snoopy1239 on August 06, 2008, 09:24:24 PM
Initial rumours stated that the 50-50 (is that what it's called?) would be the sole venue, but Harrah's announced this week that the Empire Casino is going to be the one and only host. Click the link below if you want to read more:

http://blondepoker.com/?q=node/20617 (http://blondepoker.com/?q=node/20617)

I'm a bit disappointed. The 50-50 is a perfect venue overall, and would have been great for blogging. Empire, meanwhile, although lovely, isn't the most spacious and can become quite crowded at times, especially on the balcony where players had to play amongst the rabble with all the noise and the drunks on the rail. I remember last year returning to my laptop to see some random checking his emails.

this smells to me like london casino managers saying "thanks but no thanks" because they make enough out of the normal punters and they dont want to disrupt them

Ultimatley I think its better now they have just the one venue, glad it wasnt the sportsman really. I remember last year seeing Eli Elezra flying passed the Sportsman in a taxi about 8 times looker loster each team.

You blogging there this year snoopdawg?

Wow that does surprise me...I would have expected more runners and riders this year, in which case the Empire is going to be overflowing!
Last Friday the Card room already overflowing and a bit chaotic with a 100 players,....and the casino floor was apsolutely heaving, never seen such a long queue to a cash desk. Its going to be interesting!

Doubtful I'm afraid, I think my live updates days are behind me, though I certainly will be in London during the WSOPE for a few days so we could both go for another Japanese meal and tell everyone who we only eat chips and gravy once you get north of Watford again.

Unlucky Julian not quite what you hoped for here.

The structure is now up on the WSOP site - http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com/tourney/tourneydetails.asp?groupid=459

Event 1  £1500 NLHE       - 6000 chips - 60min levels
Event 2  £2500 H.O.R.S.E - 10000 Chips - 90min levels
Event 3  £5000 PLO         - 10000 (+ 10000) double chance - 60 min levels
Event 4  £10000 NLHE     -  20000 - 120 min levels

I will be trying hard to win a seta to all of these does anyone know of any LIVE sats outside of London in one of the ALEA casinos perhaps?

Thanks Ripple, they don't run sats to the side events, no?

Might give a 50 to the 500 a pop if they don't.
