me and a friend are looking to head over to vegas middle of November, hes just told me he has a conviction for driving with no inurance from 2 years ago, will they check him out once we get there and deny access or would he get away with it unless he tells some 1?

Last time I filled in the forms they asked to declare convictions except 'traffic' ones.




So I left out all the stuff about trafficking coke back in the 90's and got in no problem.

We just returned from a visit and on the way over, US Immigration at Shannon saw a red flag with my husband because he had a green card at one time and never surrendered it.  It's not a big deal or a conviction issue, but they could have refused him if they wanted to.  Luckily we'd already been chatting away with the guy and the bar I worked at in Ft. Lauderdale when Timothy and I met, was part of his old stomping ground.  Wink, nod, push a few buttons and we're in. 

I've crawled through loads of web pages trying to get a definite answer for you, but they sure as heck don't make it easy to find and I had no luck.  That said, doubt you'll have a problem if it was just a minor traffic conviction.   

Could depend on what side of bed the person you get got out of - You have to be a miserable SOB at the best of times to do that job - never seen any of them smile. He should be alright - will be a good test of the system at least. You could ring the US embassy, obviously without giving your name or travel details, and see what they say.

There are sections of the form that state that if you omit something and they find out about it later they will never let you in again...
Then again I've heard others say that the UK does not share criminal records info with the USA, habitually, by means of shared databases.
I'd check with the Home Office.

I can totally see where America is coming from though, once you've worked that hard to keep your nation free from crime you're not going to let Johnny Foreigner come in and ruin it for you......

The Candy Store.  More of a club than a bar and it's been knocked since, but it was right on the strip.  I worked the pool side bar or inside the club at the shooter bar, depending on where they needed me.  It had a bit of a Spring Break 'reputation' back in the 80's and early 90's.  Mad place.
