Title: Gas
Post by: snoopy1239 on August 12, 2008, 11:12:22 PM
Does anyone know anything about gas (not the release of anal wind)? We think we can here air pressure being released from the meter. No major hiss or mammoth noise, just a gentle shhhhhhhh kinda sound. Are meters normally silent? Is this normal with all meters? We're trying to work out if it was there before or if we've imagined it. Is it worth bothering about? I can't smell gas or anything.

Light a match, if your house blows up ... you have a leak, if it doesnt, you are safe.

Advice is free, no need to thank me.

If you are using the gas it's probably the sound of the gas passing through the meter.

Turn everything off and see if you can still hear it. If you can. get a spray bottle and spray some soapy water on it. If it's leaking you will see the bubbles.
