Title: Going to the GGs Post by: ShatnerPants on August 17, 2008, 01:34:28 PM The good lady Pants has offered to take me out for the day for my b'day, and we've come to the conclusion that the GGs will make a change.
We're Surrey based, and seem to have the choice of Lingfield on Monday ( tomorrow ) or Brighton on Tuesday. For all you degen gamblers out there who frequent such resorts ; Would either of these meetings be better then the other ? Any advice ( and winning tips ) greatly appreciated. Enjoy +1..Lingfield has some small fields tomorrow and it's not that great. I thought, - 'Oh, I'm sure I'm bump into them in the bar, how many groups of degen lads can there be wandering around ? ' Answer - a lot. I was expecting it to be 3/4 empty. I didn't realise how crowded it would get midweek. Sorry I missed you guys. A good day out though. I got the each way in the first. The Mrs got Space Pirates ( Thanks to Chris Myles for that one. ) which stood us in good stead for the day. I managed Soundbyte, but unlike you I saw him at 4/1, downstairs, but then we went upstairs to the bar, and I made the mistake of betting with the Tote ( well I didn't know any better ), so I got the 2/1. Then got 2nd and 3rd in the last two races, but didn't back either each way. So a great afternoon, especially considering it so nearly didn't happen. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I work pretty much on my own, and meet people one or two at a time. I play poker on my own. I read / entertain myself on my own ( take that any way you like ) I don't dooo crowds too often nowadays. So I wandered about a bit hoping to see a group of guys with a 'we are blonde' banner or something. Yes, I can be a prat at times. ( Most of the time tbh ) |
