Title: Game Variations
Post by: Graham C on August 18, 2008, 08:59:55 PM
Just signed up for an 8 game tourney on Stars in about 30 mins, could someone clarify for me

2-7 TD - like low 5 card draw? Best hand is the low hand?

The rest I'm ok with thanks :)

Should be fun/different

Could be worse - you could ignore that clue after paying $10,000 to play

Jan von Halle..."I'm Out? How?"

2-7 Triple Draw: After the second draw in 2-7 triple draw, Jan von Halle flipped his hand over and showed the 3-4-5-6-7. Johnny Chan saw this and bet to put von Halle all in. Von Halle was confused as he didn't realize there was another betting round. He called anyway and couldn't quite understand why the pot was shipped to the two-time Main Event champion Chan. Von Halle must not have realized that straights count against you in 2-7 triple draw and was eliminated because of his mistake. Chan took the pot with a eight low.

Triple draw is limit in the WSOP, and so how did he get set all in? Are you telling me that they were deep into the tourny and he still hadn't realised...?   ;surrender;

I think it was near the end of day 1, maybe he'd not bothered playing many hands in the previous 2-7 rounds, or paid any attention to other people playing hands in those rounds, or bothered thinking about the name of the event.
