Title: Bet of the Day Post by: smithy69 on November 12, 2005, 11:00:23 AM I only really bet on football or cricket, with the occasional dabble in other sports when bored.
I used to play semi - pro football so am pretty well up on football. There is a cracking bet in my eyes today. BET 365 St Albans vs Maidenhead St Albans 2nd in league, won 5-2 in week - playing very very well Maidenhead struggling currently, and lost 8-1 in midweek. ST ALBANS ARE 8/13 - I know this is odds on but its a cracking bet IMO Title: Re: Bet of the Day Post by: vampitup on November 12, 2005, 11:08:09 AM I used to do a lot of football betting, my mate makes serious money at it but he has to put up with some sick swings.
St Albans are at home yeah? Have you checked any team news? If form/team news is positive, that is an amazing price. I like the look of Ross County in Scotland today, away at Brechin who have 3 points. Ross are third. 4-5 Ladbrokes. Gretna should also win, they are steamrollering the division but Partick away will be one of their tougher games. Still, you won't get 4-5 on Gretna many more times this season though. Title: Re: Bet of the Day Post by: smithy69 on November 12, 2005, 11:12:39 AM Yeah st albans are away
The standard in the league between the higher and lower teams is vast. Home advantage isnt really to much of an advantage. St Albans 2nd from top MAidenhead 3rd from bottom I think its a cracking price Title: Re: Bet of the Day Post by: vampitup on November 12, 2005, 11:14:08 AM Maybe we should have a forum bet?!!
Title: Re: Bet of the Day Post by: smithy69 on November 12, 2005, 11:20:31 AM Im off to play footy boys.
Good luck if your having a bet, im keeping my fingers crossed Title: Re: Bet of the Day Post by: Newportlad on November 12, 2005, 11:38:26 AM In the same league Bishops Stortford are travelling to my home team Newport County.
Newport are currently 2nd bottom in the league and have lost 11 of 14 games. Bishops Stortford can be backed at 6/4 to win this, which is my opinion is incredible value. Title: Re: Bet of the Day Post by: vampitup on November 12, 2005, 11:45:13 AM How are Bishops Stortford doing?

ST ALBANS ARE 8/13 - I know this is odds on but its a cracking bet IMO This is a great bet, Maidenhead haven't even won a home match this season. Also, they have a MINUS (-20) goal difference and they have only played 15 games so far this season. GET IT ON!!! 20 Maidenhead Utd 15 0 3 4 7 17 2 1 5 10 20 -20 10 Title: Re: Bet of the Day Post by: thetank on November 12, 2005, 03:38:10 PM Gretna have scored
Title: Re: Bet of the Day Post by: thetank on November 12, 2005, 03:40:18 PM Ross county are behind though
Title: Re: Bet of the Day Post by: thetank on November 12, 2005, 03:49:12 PM County have equalised
Title: Re: Bet of the Day Post by: thetank on November 12, 2005, 03:57:15 PM At half time bishops thingy mijiggy are 0-0, ross county are 2-1 up, gretna are 1-0
not sure how st albans are getting on Title: Re: Bet of the Day Post by: thetank on November 12, 2005, 03:58:01 PM They are 3-0 up. good bet
Title: Re: Bet of the Day Post by: thetank on November 12, 2005, 04:24:44 PM Gretna 2 up. St Albans and County with 3 goal cushions.
Cmon the bishops Title: Re: Bet of the Day Post by: thetank on November 12, 2005, 04:58:40 PM gretna got a 3rd only to lose 3 goals in the last 10 minutes for a 3-3 draw.
bum That's the equivalent of losing to runner runner flush. Title: Re: Bet of the Day Post by: thetank on November 12, 2005, 05:08:36 PM Had an accumulator on the 4 away teams mentioned in this post. If bishops stortford had won i'd be well pissed at Gretna's napping.
Title: Re: Bet of the Day Post by: NoflopsHomer on November 12, 2005, 05:31:51 PM lol, I was just about to suggest that you should go for the Hotshots bet on sporting index, 25pts per goal from Rooney, Owen, Riqueleme or Crespo, 20 minutes had gone it was 0-0 and I bought at 18-21, but both Owen and Crespo had had goals disallowed and Rooney and Riqueleme were running both attacks. And now Rooney and Crespo have both scored... And it's up to 62-65. Sorry bad timing from me..
Title: Re: Bet of the Day Post by: vampitup on November 12, 2005, 09:38:20 PM I started a thread on the Betfair soccer forum about the St Albans game asking about team news etc and they said it was 11/10 this morning, they all piled on and that was why it was 8/13!
I was gonna do 3 singles on St Albans, Ross and Nuneaton, but I bottled it. They all won with Nuneaton scoring a last minute penalty. >:( Has inspired me to start gambling on football again, I used to do well on it and my mate does great at it, but he does have to put up with some bad swings! Title: Re: Bet of the Day Post by: smithy69 on November 12, 2005, 10:02:40 PM The 2 bets i have had today seem to be doing well.
St Albans won I originally backed pakistan to get over 254.5 after 90 overs. When england started doing better i backed them also. If pakistand o get the total I win zilch, but have given myself a free bet They need 10 of 2.2 overs Title: Re: Bet of the Day Post by: Newportlad on November 13, 2005, 12:24:00 PM Thats the first and last time i give out any football betting tips. Sorry everyone.
Cost myself £15 on Newport County losing. Had £5 on Gretna as well. Liked the St Albans bet though. Good tip that. At least Carshalton (bottom of Southern Premier League) managed to lose again. Had £10 at 10/11 on them losing. Overall down £12.50 on football bets yesterday. Good job i won £150 at Poker at the casino!! |
