Title: broadband and phone package help please Post by: Dingdell on August 20, 2008, 02:19:04 PM Hi - I am moving house next week. I currently have BT phone line and broadband and sky tv. I have virgin mobile phone with 750 mins and 750 texts per month for £30 so I'm not sure if free evening and weekend calls with a phone provider elsewhere is helpful.
I have no tie ins with any of these providers. So far I have opted for taking Bt broadband and phone with me and they have now added in free eve and w/end calls as I suggested I may take my broadband with sky. I can cancel this at anytime before I move. I work at one clinic during the week that doesn't give me access to a computer, I am liking the idea of an iphone with internet access to answer emails and make appointments while I am at that clinic. So i thought I would look around to make sure I am getting the right value for money. I am now very confused. What is currently jumping off the page as the best value please? Is there a no brainer option? I should say I am a technophobe and bt have offered me an engineer to connect my computer to the broadband system when I move for £50. I am liking this as it saves me a lot of hassle - I nearly killed someone when I tried to organise it the last time. Thanks. Just need the basic BT line which is £9.50 a month I think. Then for about £50 a month you get sky+ including the movies + broadband + unlimited calls all day every day including quite a few international countries. The package was really good when I signed up about a year ago. Not sure if anything's better now but I doubt it if you want to keep sky. Not sure about mobiles as I'm on a multi contract thing through work. If you take broadband from Sky you can now get line rental as well for £10 per month, I thought that BT worked out about £12 per month but I could be wrong. Title: Re: broadband and phone package help please Post by: RichEO on August 20, 2008, 10:36:21 PM If you are getting sky anyway then you can add broadband for free on top.
If not, then Tiscali is the cheapest option as it includes line rental. If you end up with an iPhone you will have an o2 contract and they have a good deal for their customers, but it doesn't include the line rental so the above are probably still cheaper. They're crap anyway so you could swap them for sports for the same price. I can find out the exact price I'm paying if you like?
