Title: Poker pet peeves Post by: George2Loose on August 23, 2008, 10:42:55 PM Probably been done before but what is your biggest pet peeve???
Mine is when there's two players all in in a poker tournament and they start questioning each other "Have u got an ace?" "No have you?" "I've got a pair" "Big pair?" FFS just turn over your damn hands already! Title: Re: Poker pet peeves Post by: Jim-D on August 23, 2008, 10:55:46 PM It peeves me to just play the bloody game at the moment...
But i'm with you on your peeve mate, that kind of talk bores the fcuk outta me Title: Re: Poker pet peeves Post by: Longy on August 23, 2008, 10:57:16 PM Yeah that is annoying.There are so many to pick from.
The one that tilts me the most is unprompted "ty" in online poker. It is nearly always the biggest donk on the table who finds a top 10% hand, when you make a standard push and feels the need to thank me for my perceived genorosity. In fact i have totally turned off chat when playing now, to stop this tilting me. Title: Re: Poker pet peeves Post by: WarBwastard on August 23, 2008, 11:10:20 PM When you're all-in pre-flop with a pair called by a bigger pair and some bright spark at the tables let's you know he folded one of your two outs. Kick a man when he's down why don't you.
Ignorance is bliss. Title: Re: Poker pet peeves Post by: Jim-D on August 23, 2008, 11:15:21 PM People who don't keep up with the game and you have to keep constantly prompting them its there turn EVERY BLOODY ORBIT!! (a guy in our home game..you know who you are...Simon!)
If i needed to up my post count to qualify for staking then this would be the thread for me to do it :) Title: Re: Poker pet peeves Post by: Grier78 on August 23, 2008, 11:19:47 PM Sour grapes rail birds on-line and ungracious losers live, just take it on the chin and move on.

Title: Re: Poker pet peeves Post by: The_duke on August 24, 2008, 12:44:55 AM to be honest I have no real pet peeves -- ok i will get beat -- i alsio will maybe win now and again -- to be honest it does not bother me -- if it did I might (maybe) reconsider playing, and thats not an option

Title: Re: Poker pet peeves Post by: AlanWright on August 24, 2008, 04:46:38 AM TUTORS. people who can't seem to grasp that not everyone is a pro like them (yeah right). They say, "oh when i was in the 6million quid freezeout, i played that hand completely different". They will then proceed to let you know of all the comps they have played WAAAAY over these stakes, in many exotic places like aruba and THE MOON. This is just childs play to them. CLERALY NOT INTERESTED.
Title: Re: Poker pet peeves Post by: DaveShoelace on August 24, 2008, 08:46:55 AM "I havent even been deat a picture card in the last hour"
Someone who says "thats poker" when they make a stupid call and get lucky Someone who says "sick" when their small pair gets outdrawn by ace-king Someone who berates you or otherwise curses when they get their money in bad, outdraw you and you redraw. This guy on the Aussie Million final table did it recently, he called allin with JT against Seidels QQ, hit two tens and then the turn was a Q, he went on to complain that Seidel was a lucky donk that kept 2 outering him. Oh, and when someone is facing a big bet on a 4 flush, 4 straight, paired board and they say something like "you must have aces" and muck thinking they are clever,like that is the only hand they should be scared of. Title: Re: Poker pet peeves Post by: DaveShoelace on August 24, 2008, 08:49:17 AM And people who are desperate to tell you that they won in the cash games of that festival they didnt cash in. Ok, you're a winning player, we get it.
Title: Re: Poker pet peeves Post by: Grier78 on August 24, 2008, 09:28:21 AM min raisers! I despise them and it and it puts be on severe life tilt!!! Don't play against me then. (although I assume you mean for other reasons than pot-building and identfying strong hands pre-flop) Title: Re: Poker pet peeves Post by: redsimon on August 24, 2008, 09:35:26 AM 99% of the posts in this thread are things which make poker profitable, rejoice at them :)
Title: Re: Poker pet peeves Post by: TheDJ on August 24, 2008, 10:19:34 AM 99% of the posts in this thread are things which make poker profitable, rejoice at them :) 100% agree with this, in all honesty, im probably partially a person who would get on peoples nerves as i do feel sometimes the "amount" i talk gives me an edge over some people... Some poeple you can see it on there faces, espcially if it makes them more nervous... I have proof of this in the £100 FO at Luton the other week when i told a "newish" live player that is A, K was good, he moved all in, and my flopped set held up... But then the more experienced players just think im a muppet sometimes lol I get annoyed when people dont keep up with the game, but then also get annoyed with players who say "its on you" but you can obviously see there in the "dwell" so who knows! another thing, which has only just started to annoy me, as at my local 2 casinos, cash games, all in, cards get turned over, i hate some of the new cash games i have been playing in lately, where your all in on the flop but you dont have to table your cards Title: Re: Poker pet peeves Post by: ardeecee on August 24, 2008, 10:52:55 AM Online, either the berating received when a player is outdrawn even if the winner is getting his money in with the correct odds or the unnecessary attacks and language used on either being outdrawn or outplayed which they blatantly wouldn't do if they weren't hiding behind their computer screen!!! ;grr;

Title: Re: Poker pet peeves Post by: ShatnerPants on August 24, 2008, 11:34:59 AM I really hate that stupid git that keeps on sneaking up behind me and whispering 'call, call, call', when you know damned well you're beaten.
It gets worse when I turn round and he's disappeared. Donks online who say ty in chatbox when they crack a big hand with garbage Falling for the massive overbet on the river thinking its a bluff and they have the nuts. (The new value bet?) Title: Re: Poker pet peeves Post by: Tuffster on August 24, 2008, 02:51:54 PM Bad beats, people berating other players or dealers Just no excuse for abusing a dealer, these people should be horsewhipped off the premises. Unless they've just mucked your card protected hole cards which make the nut-full. Seriously though, no justifiable reason for abusing a dealer, absolute disgrace Title: Re: Poker pet peeves Post by: Grier78 on August 24, 2008, 03:07:41 PM Bad beats, people berating other players or dealers Just no excuse for abusing a dealer, these people should be horsewhipped off the premises. True...but some do it when they are terrible players themselves ;) Title: Re: Poker pet peeves Post by: thetank on August 24, 2008, 10:05:04 PM No #1 peeve is regulars who get outdrawn and then berate the fish, and go so far as to bring up the subject of their sharkscope stats. How much they are winning and the other guy is losing etc etc.
Hate it. I dont like programs like sharkscope/OPR anyway I think all data you have on opponents should be gained by one self, not by some computer which tracks for you. Title: Re: Poker pet peeves Post by: MC on August 25, 2008, 08:40:30 PM Definitely agree with generally being berated...At DTD recently I made a perfectly reasonable pot odds call with KJs recently, was up against a Q3 shove bluff and AT who called in the small I'm in the big, the board read something like AAxxJ and I was deciding whether to call the sb's bet and wisely mucked. I folded face up and was told I was a complete donk for playing the hand by about 4 people at the table, and was berated for a good two rounds, one person even called a friend over to let them know I'd played this hand farcically and now was getting understandably upset when the whole sodding table was teaching me how to play! What makes this funny is that this was a £30 rebuy satellite...now I'm not trying to be pretentious but I wouldn't usually play this game and think I know how to play a little better than the 8 random donks on my table at the time.
Sorry I needed to rant about that, it's been bugging me for a while. Add to that list people who say "sorry" when they outdraw you.... ...that really winds me up Title: Re: Poker pet peeves Post by: Grier78 on August 25, 2008, 10:02:43 PM Definitely agree with generally being berated...At DT (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/)D (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/) recently I made a perfectly reasonable pot odds call with KJs recently, was up against a Q3 shove bluff and AT who called in the small I'm in the big, the board read something like AAxxJ and I was deciding whether to call the sb's bet and wisely mucked. People who have a go at bad players who make bad decisions but get lucky. If they never got lucky then they wouldn't call the "raise, re-raise, all-in" just because "they were suited" They're his chips. he's paid his money so he can do what he wants with them. Stop berating these loveable fools 2) People who can't deal! Fair enough if you're arms in a sling or you're missing a thumb or whatever but seriously get a bloody grip and take your turn like everyone elses!
