Title: bad beat stories Post by: The-Crow on August 28, 2008, 01:13:20 AM Ok, here is where to tell your bad beats
Mine is, My worst bad beat was pushing with aces, and getting called by 1 player on Ace/king Ok fair enough, another caller with Ace/queen ok fair enough again, but then a muppet in the big blind calls with 5 ten. He hit a 5 on the flop and a ten on the river Title: Re: bad beat stories Post by: jizzemm on August 28, 2008, 01:17:13 AM Ok, here is where to tell your bad beats Mine is, My worst bad beat was pushing with aces, and getting called by 1 player on Ace/king Ok fair enough, another caller with Ace/queen ok fair enough again, but then a muppet in the big blind calls with 5 ten. So 5 ten has a 14% chance of beating aces. What are the best ten starting hands?, cheers. Title: Re: bad beat stories Post by: thetank on August 28, 2008, 01:56:42 AM I thought I posted on this thread, wierd.
Was quite a long post, the jist of it was that the beat was pretty standard. Title: Re: bad beat stories Post by: thetank on August 28, 2008, 02:01:46 AM thanks Longy, So 5 ten has a 14% chance of beating aces. Only in the situation you described. It'll be less if it's just AA vs T5 on their own (12-13% depending on suits) The reason for T5 faring slightly better in the hand you described, even though there were more players, is that both the other two aces were accounted for in the hands of the other two players. No chance that you can make AAA and ruin his chances of sucking out. For your starting hand question, this wikipedia page may help... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_hold_'em_starting_hands Title: Re: bad beat stories Post by: bolt pp on August 28, 2008, 08:29:53 AM lock thread pls

Title: Re: bad beat stories Post by: StuartHopkin on August 28, 2008, 10:39:26 AM I like the call with 10 5 if he puts all of you on big cards, I would have liked it more if he had 3 5.

Title: Re: bad beat stories Post by: thetank on August 28, 2008, 08:02:43 PM [ ] Blonde is a very welcoming place these days.
Why have we got to be uber-sarky to new members like this? You'd think the first thing we all did after we popped out of the womb was fold AQ to the mid-wife's all-in. Reminds me of the old comedy sketch where the driving instructors are laughing at the pupils on their first lesson "you can't even drive." I'm going to shake my head and mutter dissprovingly. Title: Re: bad beat stories Post by: mondatoo on August 28, 2008, 10:22:03 PM Very good post imo Tank. Its very likely that The Crow is unaware of these previous threads and also the degen sunday thread every week so was just trying to get some opinions. If that is the worst beat you've took and you only have one to mention then your very lucky.Gl with the game it can be a lot harder than that at times and enjoy the forum.
Title: Re: bad beat stories Post by: The-Crow on August 29, 2008, 12:17:51 AM Ok,
As I am a newbie its good to get help, thanks for all your comments The list of best starting hands is v useful thanks Tank. I guess if we did not get bad beats the same 10% of top players would always win And the other 90% would go bust very quickly, Now even beginners can get lucky and win , great. GUKPT super sat Weds. Down to 2 tables about 16/18 left and I get a guy all in me JJ him 99, if my JJ holds up I am chip leader. First card on the flop 9. Anyway get a few back and get to final table about 6th/7th in chips. Card dead for a while then SB v BB clash. (http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee61/Bloot58/clarkatriod.jpg) Good prize pool tonight as well.
