Title: Re: Word of the day Post by: Robert HM on August 29, 2008, 05:01:07 PM A Cambridge Law lecturer loved that word. There was a spate of attacks in the mid 80s when victims were either pushed through windows or jumped fearing worse injuries if they stayed and fought. A few cases got to the Court of Appeal and hit the legal texts books later. He termed them Defenestration cases.
Title: Re: Word of the day Post by: Kev B on August 29, 2008, 05:20:37 PM Outstanding word, will be much used by on line poker players me thinks.

Title: Re: Word of the day Post by: wader leg on August 29, 2008, 09:01:24 PM I had a teacher who used to get extremely excitable whenever we broke a window because he got to say that word.
Another of his favourites was "masticating" as in shouting "you boy! are you masticating?" at any poor unfortunate who he saw chewing. Quite funny when you're 12 or 13 but as we got older we realised there was something a bit strange about his ways so we always kept a firm grip on the soap in the showers after football practice if he was loitering. He's probably still there, or in the Priesthood or something. Title: Re: Word of the day Post by: The_duke on August 29, 2008, 09:11:00 PM defenestrate
