Title: No flair whatsoever PLO hand? Post by: EvilPie on August 29, 2008, 06:32:56 PM Sat at 2/2 DC at DTD last night. 8 handed everyone has decent stacks, I've got about £250 after just doubling up villain with a light (and dubious) call. He's now on about £600
Most pots have had multiple players no matter what the raise and there's been plenty of straddling. I've had absolutely no cards in the last 4 hours so I've not played many hands and my image is supertight. Not that villain cares to be fair. The hand in question. It gets straddled to £4 and everyone calls round to me. I've got 4d 5d 6s 7s so I pot it up to £20. I'm expecting at least 4 callers so should I be potting with this hand? Villain is sat to my left and repots to £72 which was not what I expected. Everyone now folds round to me. I put villain squarely on aces. There is no way he does this with anything else as he is pretty fishy and likes to see a lot of flops. I know that if I hit there is no way he is laying down so I decide to flat. Was this ok? Flop comes 2h 3c 8s (not sure of suits but definitely rainbow). Knowing that he is definitely shoving a pot bet and definitely potting if I check what do I do? Title: Re: No flair whatsoever PLO hand? Post by: ACE2M on August 29, 2008, 08:03:40 PM you should pot it for the chance he might fold.

I still get it in though and the raise pre was good. Title: Re: No flair whatsoever PLO hand? Post by: EvilPie on August 29, 2008, 08:30:16 PM you should pot it for the chance he might fold. This is the thing with the hand. He will not fold. I know he's got aces and over values them no matter what the flop is. That was why I'd called him light in the earlier hand that I'd lost. Also because I know he's got aces he has 2 of my outs so I'm on 11 + the backdoor spades obviously. Just had to have a sanity check to make sure I was right to pot it. I know I'm strong here but it's not exactly a monster wrap. He's got 2 of my outs, my seven's dead apart from backdoor possibilities and I know I need to hit. Thanks for the reassurance. You lead out for a pot sized bet. At what level does the guy holding the aces fold? Edit, genuinely interested how you can find a fold here if you have aces..not trying to be a prat. Title: Re: No flair whatsoever PLO hand? Post by: ACE2M on August 29, 2008, 09:12:45 PM i did say with different stacks then aces might get folded if flop action dictates it. With these stacks, that pot and that action then no, aces aren't getting folded.
If there is the slightest chance he may fold the flop it is more profitable to bet the pot on the flop. Title: Re: No flair whatsoever PLO hand? Yeah OK, I get that..just misread your earlier post in that case. Title: Re: No flair whatsoever PLO hand? That's true but no-one folds aces here on this board. Deffo pot nonetheless. |
