I`m not normally one to beg but desperate days call for desperate actions so...

We have to cancel our TV slots on Monday with SKY TV if.. we don`t have a sponsor for this years Worlds Heads Up.
Despite having the opportunity to have this unique and popular??? (I`m begining to wonder) championships broadcast on SKY as of yet no sponsor  has come forward so before we resign ourselves to losing the broadcasts completely is anyone actualy remotely intrested in this opportunity?

What I have done is voiced my opions ..somtimes right..some wrong
I`ve been around a while.. long before you or many of the people on this site ( Ecxluding TK..LoL )  and as such possibly have seen more things than I care to tell, and have different views and the creed by which I operate is therefore totally different to most.

But seriously, I don't sense any clique as such. Just a group of older people who know each other very well. And i feel more welcome here as a relative newbie, than I did at any other forum.

I have heard you with my own ears on several occasions slate blonde and the people involved in it.........FACT!!!!!  And you sir are just a pain every time you open your mouth - particulary towards myself.

This is just laughable to me considering your public rantings about blonde that you now choose to use it as a begging tool for sponsorship of an event.

There is quite clearly a problem with your product, that is why nobody wants to buy it...there is already tonnes of poker on telly, Stars sponsor the crap out of the EPT, Bluesquare have the GUKPT....and your product just doesn't compare.

Poker in itsself is boring enough to watch..HU poker is mind-numbingly dull, that is why nobody wants to give you 150k to show it on a Sky channel (I am guessing just a random channel on sky and not a proper one)..they know people won't watch and the 150k would go straight down the drain.

You have asked several companies for sponsorship and they told you that they weren't interested..now you beg (your words, not mine) for 150k on blonde to get the sponsorship going from somewhere? What are you hoping to achieve with this post?
 I am guessing you've already been to most companies that would read blonde..so what did you hope was gonna happen with this desperate (your words not mine) post; That someone would go "Well, you know what...I have a spare 150k floating about, I told this guy no before but...ar..why the hell not..it's only 150k I lose after all".?

It's a baffling post to me..and, I have to say, a post like that doesn't make your product look too good either.

"Is anyone even remotely interested?" are not words to use when you ask for money..as you are telling people "Noone else wanted my product as they thought it was shit or too expensive"..so noone will change their minds now.

Personally, if I was to run a company and one of my employees posted something like this about my product I would sack them on the spot.

I disagree with the bolded, I think heads up is about as interesting form of poker as you get and have watched the world heads up on tv before and though it was worth the watch, better than the matchroom tripe imo.

The problem is that the majority of ppl who watch poker on tv, aren't good at the game and aren't interested in the intrancies of deepstack hu poker. They are more interested in devilfish lumping it in with ak and moaning when he loses to tens.

As for the op, i agree it is hardly a great sell for his product and all his post seems to have achieved is calling blonde clique and getting in an arguement with Chili.

Opinions on HU poker vary.... and each to their own.

As for the "Begging" part I did say I am not too good at this type of thing, so I guess I know now that I am totally crap at begging but..
It was done as a last attempt to gain some intrest or publicity? for the event which incidentally attracts most of the players like "Devil Fish" El Blondie, Marc Goodwin and many more top pros..so there is a lot of intrest in the product .
Maybe I was misguided in my final attempts to gain a sponsor for the event but ...At least I tried.

i watched a few episodes some time ago with paul philips i think commentating and i thought they were good. the wsop has stolen your thunder probably. also when they can play 25K HU comps at home on their computers it's prob hard to attract the best in the world to barcelona for a 2.5K event.

as longy said 10 times better than the matchroom crap so shame you can't get sponsored imo.

i actually despise the 6 packs on matchroom, hu is ok, but cash games ftw.

really enjoyed the high stakes poker series, roll on season 5.

Doesn't sound hopeful at the moment, but good luck.

It's a real shame this event wont get the backing, it is my favourite event of the year and transitions well to the telly (i would still love to see the final over in 1 hand :D)

Any anyone who doesn't think blonde is a clique is kidding themselves.

A qiuck thanks.... for the support vioced about the World Heads Up ..(Not my opinions of Blonde..LoL)

Unfortunately it looks almost certain that we will have no TV coverage , which as I and one or two agree is a shame as it is popular with the Players generally.
The event itself will go ahead as planned and, I am told, that the casino already has fourty odd entries so come the day (128 total allowed) looks like being full.

Maybe the TV will return next year...possibly around May?

Maybe I was kidding myself a little bit. Of course every forum has a clique, but the clique here isn't one that drives people away from the forum like I've seen on other forums in the past.

I'm not part of the clique, but I still feel welcome here :)

I am baffled as to why this event has gotten no sponsor.

I still look forward to playing in it again. It's been a long time since I've played hu sng style.

I blame last years finalists ... obv killed the event for a TV viewing audience ;)

IF you would strive to achieve point 5 in your third quote then maybe that would be a great improvement?

I love watching this tourney, and think it's one of the best Poker shows on telly. HU poker imo is by far the best variant to watch. It's also the variant you can learn most from by watching. One of the greatest things about the event was that it wasn't made specifically for telly - e.g no crapshoot blinds.

A real shame it looks like there is going to be no sponsor this year. I really wanted to play this, but really can't justify it if there is no chance of getting ma logo on the telly!
