Title: OT: For us Oldies
Post by: Heid on November 13, 2005, 11:51:05 AM
But a heads up for those with ITV4 - Saturday evenings at 6 they are showing The Water Margin!

Now they just have to get Monkey back on!

Oh and the early Tomorrow People as well.

I'll forgive you that last comment IF you watch it next week and see how fabby it is :)

Ang, they used to show Blake's Seven on UKGold, and there was talk of bringing it back cause of how well Dr Who was received.

Personally I'd always receive Mr Eccleston with open arms :)

Wow, I found a reference to a program I had a bet on that someone said never existed, remember The Pheonix and the carpet? On the last episode they said that it would not be repeated for at least 25 years!!! This puzzled me and no one knew the program I was talking about. Unfortunately there is absolutely no info on it apart from it existed. This just made me £200 !!! Heid your a star!!

Heid,

Will you accept a very large drink at the blonde tourny in Jan?

Do you know anyone who wants to buy a Commodore 64 with 200+ games no Jet Set Willy Though.  Yes I did.

Will not play JSW until finished Manic Miner though - this week is going to be great.

Now to PM Ironside about setting up a JSW board.

Again thanks Heid.

I was always trying to find a really good version - there was a Melbourne House version that was buggy, and it wasn't good. I loved the arcade version - and I would pay money to get one of those machines in my house. A few years ago they went for about 2.5k, but I'd go for it if I had the room.

Oh that and Joust if we are being reeeally retro :)

Heid,

Have you tried Mame.dk If there is an arcade cash they will have it with emulator.

I would give you a direct link but I had to remove some years ago as the misses made me promise never to return(Google will sort you though).  Playing Gorf and Defender till 4 in the morning with no return for my time was not looked well upon in Sunny Norfolk I can tell you.
If you have not been here before sorry for ruining your life.

Yeah I have played with Mame - never managed to get the Marble Madness to work though :( had good fun with Tapper, Defender and Mr Do though <g>.

Ahh I have next week off, I might be re-indulging :)

Tim - my sister knows Jeff - he's a guy and a half - males sensory recognition/light programs for raves now I think. Revenge of the Mutant Camels was his famous one :)

When I started reading this thread all if could think was OMG Blake's Seven, and the fit one in it - he was the sarrcy one, can't remember his name but phwoaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

And I used to love Sapphire and Steel.

Then I read the rest of the thread and I'm sat here thinking   WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

All I can remember from my younger days (and I'm 36 now) is Donkey Kong, Space Invaders and PacMan.

Did I lose some years?
