These are programmes for people who only have a passing interest in poker - ie they don't have an internet account yet so might join Ladbrokes after watching it. Poker connoisseurs have been spoilt by watching the cash games on TV. Once you've seen the Negreanu v Hansen hand from HSP, all made for TV tournament poker is a bit crap in comparison.
