Emma began performing at university, becoming President of The Oxford Revue. Upon graduating, Emma trained as a solicitor and for three years practised in London. She left the law in 1995 and has been writing and performing ever since. She was nominated for the Cable Guide TV Awards Favourite TV Personality in 2001. The Sunday Format won a British Comedy Award for Best Radio comedy in 2000, Sony Silver in 2001 and Sony Bronze in 2002. It also won the Broadcast Press Guild Award for Best Radio Show in 2004. Think the Unthinkable won Sony Silver in 2002. The Now Show won Sony Bronze in 2004. Emma won the Comedy Lounge Award for Best Actress for her performance in Bill Shakespeare's Italian Job in 2003. She also won the British Television Advertising Craft Award 2005 for Best Actress for her performance in the UK TV Five Steps To A New You campaign. Emma was the runner up World Conker champion in 1991.
