Title: Hurricane Ike
Post by: wormster on September 13, 2008, 04:18:57 AM
Anyone watching FOX News on Ch 506 with their coverage of Hurricane Ike?

Frightening stuff if you live in the Texas area, fascinating to watch the coverage if you live anywhere else!

"There's 30 foot storm surge by my house,  we got the bad end of the storm east of galveston. Hurricanes COME FOR ME.
I left and am at my parents in oklahoma evacuated last night and stayed at a cabin inland, then finished coming here today - anyway, I'm not dead, just probably homeless. Thought you should know!"

yeah, it sounds like Galveston is going to get hit very badly - & they think that a good few people decided to ride the storm out. They've been told to write their social security numbers on their arms for identification & that they face "almost certain death!"

Why would people risk their lives when up against Mother Nature?
