Post by: celtic on September 14, 2008, 11:23:04 AM only a flush draw folds here. Other than that its time for Mr Martin to re-load!!!!
Title: Re: ok to fire this third barrel? Post by: T_Mar on September 14, 2008, 01:43:40 PM I dont know if its ok to fire again here or not tbh... But I would be interested to know your own thoughts when taking this line against these oppo's, what do you think he is calling with??
Is it generally best to play hyper aggresive against these 'fishy' oppo's, or is it best to tighten up, and just push your strong hands? Kinda demoralising when you handing buyins to peeps who you know cant fold. I tend to pound these types of players, thinking they 'have to fold' but then beat myself up for being a spew merchant when they call me down with Ace rag or whatever. Title: Re: ok to fire this third barrel? Post by: AlexMartin on September 14, 2008, 03:03:22 PM only a flush draw folds here. Other than that its time for Mr Martin to re-load!!!! what about AJ/A10/A9/rag aces? surely if ur in villains shoes ur folding the river? Title: Re: ok to fire this third barrel? Post by: celtic on September 14, 2008, 03:12:04 PM just a feeling the way the hand has played out that he's not folding to ur all in on the river. He thinks he's ahead and he's calling IMO.
if ur asking if i fold to you there then maybe. Then again....... Title: Re: ok to fire this third barrel? Post by: maldini32 on September 14, 2008, 03:42:44 PM If he calls the turn with an ace, his not passin the river.
Title: Re: ok to fire this third barrel? Post by: Charlie44 on September 14, 2008, 04:06:21 PM Apologies Martin for commenting on your hand when you clearly have lot more experience than me.
I agree with your play totally. The only likely candidate hands in my opinion are - 55 - although statistically unlikely (with other 2 fives already out) - it would fit the play. he is not worried about likely flush draws because Ad already on board and therefore no need to raise the turn. AJ, AT, A9 - I don't think hes calling raise pre flop with lower kicker especially with players behind him to play - but it tends to fit the play although on the flop I think I'm raising to see where I'm at. imo flush draw is much less likely with the Ad out, and having to call raise pre flop . So imo there is a high probability that he has AJ, AT or A9. The question is there more than 40 % likelihood that he'll fold on the river after the third bullet. I would (but there again I probably wouldn't have called pre flop without knowledge of the raiser). Title: Re: ok to fire this third barrel? Title: Re: ok to fire this third barrel? Post by: totalise on September 14, 2008, 04:28:10 PM the fact that hes posted a dead blind(s) makes it a lot less likely he's folding an ace on the river imo
Title: Re: ok to fire this third barrel? Post by: boldie on September 14, 2008, 08:20:31 PM If he calls the turn with an ace, his not passin the river. this. Only a busted FD passes here after calling you on the turn. Title: Re: ok to fire this third barrel? Post by: MC on September 14, 2008, 08:30:40 PM That turn call would scare me...busted flush draw passes, and perhaps if he had something like KQ and made a "bad" call on the turn

Was it an insta-call or did he let the timer almost run out?
I've seen this sort of hand myself so many times before and the time they take to call is always a factor but I'm never sure how much stock I should be putting on it, lol... |
