Post by: boldie on September 14, 2008, 04:54:21 PM call is fine here..in fact..your entire play here is pretty much spot on..maybe the check raise is slightly too big for me ussually (4x his bet..make it 3 when you have a nice hand like this and you'll get a wider range of calls) but nothing wrong with the plays in itsself.

The only think I started thinking about was the stopper bet on the river, and wondered if was the best thing to do. Sorry to go a bit deep but bare with me. To make things more simple lets assume 2 candidate hands for villain - AK (which I win) and 99 (which I loose), and that I'm calling all in what ever happens. Am I better off by betting $1 or checking ? Against AK By betting $1 I am better off only if he calls the $1, and would have checked behind me, if I had checked. However I am better off by checking if he would have bet/gone all in behind me. Against 99 I am no better off by betting the $1- as theres very little chance of him just calling the stopper bet - hes going all in for sure. I may well be better off by checking if he bets less than all in ( which is a real possibility - he doesn't want to loose his customer) On reflection I think maybe I was better off checking the river. Any comments appreciated. Title: Re: Rivered on poker stars ?
