What is the quickest way to resize pic's instead of going to paint etc in order to get the right size for Blonde. That takes me ages.

Microsoft Office Picture Manager if you've got it.

I have found a Short-Cut for this now Maureen, & can resize a 'photo in 43 easy steps.

Right Click -> Edit
Picture Menu  -> Resize
Enter required Pixel Size   -> Click OK
File Menu  -> Save As

(Will work if the first step - Right click on the picture and select edit - opens the image within Microsoft Office Picture Manager)

I use photobucket, pretty easy to re-size with a couple of clicks.

Added advantage is that they are stored off-forum so don't take up blonde's storage capacity (and Ironside can't delete them)
A lot of the photos I had in my 2006 STT diary are gone forever because I just put them on the forum instead of using something like photobucket. :(

Right, answer me this.

If I take a pic at a resolution of say 5mp, and then use paint to re-size it to 75kb, and then I take the same pic at a resolution of 1mp and re-size it to 75kb, why does the one taken at 1mp display twice as big asthe 5mb after re-sizing?

The picture at the higher resolution takes up more memory. Stands to reason, there are more pixels to keep track of.

When you resize a pic to a certain amount of kB, you are re-sizing it in terms of how much memory it takes up, not in terms of how much space it will take up on a screen.

Therin lies the confusion, two different meanings of the word size.

How much space it take up on the screen.
How much memory it takes to store.

Changing the size in kb reduces the amount of pixels and will resulatantly also changes the size (in terms of good old fashioned centimeters) that the picture appears on the screen.

You can use programs that will make a picture a certain size on the screen regardless of how many megapixels it was taken with. (Photobucket for example, but I'm sure others do it equally simply)
