Player abilities are based on real life abilities and increase/decrease based on their performances in real life so obv starting with a better team improves your chances of early success.

Ah yes - it would appear we've run into a problem.

As it's not password protected, random punters have found it and applied to be 11 of the clubs already. I assume we have to wait for Scott to reject all these, then be quick to jump in before more random people wander in off the street and try to join our league.

Bojan is a great signing on this as he is only 89 rated, guaranteed riser as rest of Barca team is like 91+.

I looked into signing him but they weren't tremendously keen on a swap deal involving Dave Kitson. Dunno why!

Stoke City made their first moves in the transfer last night by snapping up German goalkeeper Jens Lehman for 700k. Lehman brings with him a wealth of experience and ability.

Joining Lehman at The Britannia Stadium are Filippo Inzaghi and Javier Zanetti who again should bring valuable experience to a squad which lacks players used to top level football.

Manager Scott Campbell has now focused his targets on signing some younger players with potential to complement the recent signings. Maurice Edu and Pedrito have also signed on from Rangers and Barcelona respectively.

We seem to be adopting a similar strategy of blending old + cheap 88+ players and bringing in younger 80+ players. I shall christen it the Deen model as it blends the tack Derby and Aberdeen have taken in SM1. Here's hoping it continues to work.

My Middlesborough squad is too lacking in depth, quality wise, to really cause damage in cups.

The aim is to stay up, and build slowly. With an average 1st XI rating of 89 its tough to compete. Realistic really!

Team played well is scant consolation.

I have a pretty good squad I think, hopefully 2 good cup runs is the aim this season and if Bojan plays like that he may make the starting lineup sooner rather than later. On a side note glad I swapped Agbonlahor for Zarate as hes gone up one but wish it was more.

Was trying to get Zarate in SM1 cos he's been playing well irl and thought he could have went up to 90. I was surprised Bojan didn't go up in the Spanish ratings just past - will rise next time no doubt.

Played my reserves against Blackburns reserves at the weekend and scraped a win.
Think i got lucky tonight as my first team met the same team in the semi final of the cup.
By forgetting or on purpose it looks like the Blackburn side wasn't changed and i dominated the game and booked a place in the final with a 2-0 win.

Finished the season with a 3-1 win over Liverpool.

Sunderland finishing in 7th and looking forward to next season. Overachieved this season imo, but will be looking for top 7 again next season.

Despite a 2-1 defeat to Portsmouth, WBA managed to hold on to 3rd spot, defintely my proudest SM achievement to date even though with 68 points i would've finished 7th in SM1 season one. Up the Baggies.
