Advice please. After reviewing my game below I am convinced it was a very poor pass.

The opponent had recently joined table and I had little knowledge. My thinking at the time was he surely has the jack -but after reviewing he could conceivably have AQ ( which I am winning ) or AK (split pot ) or bluffing worse. In any case I have outs on the river against other conceivable hands such as AJ,AA or TT. It should have been an easy call when I was getting 2.5 - 1.

Advice would be appreciated on :

1. How I played the hand before the river.
2. My assesment of my failure to call on the river.
3. How to make better judgements during the limted time you have with on-line poker.  How would your reasoning have gone during the max 30 secs you have to make a decission in this hand. ? 

What outs do you have against AA? A jack for a tie? Also bear in mind there's no way he can have AA the way the action went...

Anyway...

Pre-flop play is good, flop raise is good....

Your reasoning can only really be "does he shove all in with a jack", and "does it make sense that he has one" .. the answers are maybe and maybe...

The pass isn't bad, but he doesn't have to have the jack here. Personally there's no way I could fold at these stakes, the average player at this level would shove here with any ace for sure.

I like your line pre and on the flop.

The turn is a really meh spot, his line is totally wtf? He probably doesn't why he has shoved, but that doesn't really help us. I would call because fk him and his stupid line, but Im starting to think this might be a leak of mine. Its close either way imo.

WP. Raise size (which was good btw) from you on the flop makes this a call on the turn. Sometimes he shows up with some retarded Jack, but not often enough given his line and pot odds.

i wouldnt be so sure mate. a hell of a lot of multitabling nits at microstakes.

But also a lot of guys that are happy with their  Aspades ,  8s  on the flop, who then get scared when they see a scare card on the turn.

And how best to play a scare card ?

Push and shut your eyes.

I think, because it's microstakes, you have to assume your oppo is of the poorer variety until he's proved to you otherwise.  If he has shoved the nuts, make a note and don't fall for it again. 

I'm not so sure the majority of people at microstakes will think and play that way. Their default is passivity and limp calling or check calling. On the other hand, they do love not putting money in the pot with the nuts!!

This spot is ugly. Though as others have said, fuck him and call.

True about shoving the nuts.   If he'd pushed on the river, I'd agree with you totally.  And it's definately a possibility on the turn.  But I definately have seen some guys defend a raggy ace like this.  maybe not as many as it seems tho' (  :dontask: ) . 

I still think the default at micro cash is to assume they're rubbish until they prove otherwise.
