Title: Hand from WSOPE Event.
Post by: celtic on September 20, 2008, 12:29:24 PM
Starting stack 6000.

2nd level, blinds 50/100.

We have had a couple of mishaps having to fold pocket jacks & kings on unfavourable boards and are down to 3300.

Very loose french guy who has accumlated lots of chips (approx 15k) makes it 500 utg. 2nd loose french guy (4.5k approx) makes it 2000 out of the small blind.

We look down at QQ.

Fold or shove?

I'd leave friction burns on the felt, but I'm a fish

The structure isn't good enough for you to fold here.

By loose do you include history of raising and reraising pre flop regularly or without premium hands. If so I'm pushing. On a full table there's a only approx. 10 % chance that somebody's got AA or KK , and if their raising range is wide there is a good chance your better preflop. Info. about number of players on table and position of yourself/opponenets would help reinforce decision.

You have a raise from a very loose Frenchman and a strange re-raise from another loose Frenchman. The re-raise is obv for 4.5k and imo pushing for 4.5k would look like a much weaker hand than a half stack re-raise. Why put in a raise that looks so strong if you're so strong? Also you have lost half your starting stack.

More importantly you have a rare golden opportunity to play poker Waterloo and that's got to be worth a push in itself. In fact you should consider humming Rule Britannia as you push your chips in.

Is there anybody would NOT have shoved with QQ in this situation?

It looks like it Chompy

WYSINWYG might try a patented 3.5k to go min-raise, but we're 201 chips shy of making that move work. :(

This hand is so standard its unbelievable, w/o offending

QQ is ahead of is likely 4bet calling range which makes this +EV

Range being JJ+, AQ+. If it's tighter than that (which i doubt by your description) your prob a 3 to 2 dog to his calling range which still makes this +EV with the dead money
