Update via text from Claw from within the Empire.

Ironside sharing table with Paul Jackson. He won one pot uncontested with a pair of sixes. Survived an early all-in splitting a pot with AAxx.

Ironside has 14k.

"Ah, he must have taken his second set of chips already", I hear you cry.

But no, he has managed to accumulate 4000 chips.

I know, so am I.

I left the Empire an hour ago and Ironstein was still in fine form, having been recently moved to the same table as Robert Williamson III who, I gather, is a bit of an omaha whizz.  Had some fun on the rail with Gatso and Ben Mayhew, including a rather silly prop bet.  Gatso also took a fantastic pic of Ben with Doyle Brunson, with dolly giving an amusing hand gesture - hopefully it'll get posted ;D

Ironside seems to be holding his own with the sharks, and I'm looking forward to collecting my £218 share of first prize!

From Poker News

"Fowl" River for Alistair

The charismatic Alistair Fowler has just been eliminated from the tournament by Robert Williamson III.

Fowler got his money in good on the turn holding top two pair (queens and tens), but Williamson had outs to match his overpair (kings), as well as an open-ended straight draw.

A king fell on the river -- the case king, as luck would have it -- and Fowler left the table a good sport, wishing everyone good luck in his exit.

After the hand, Williamson stacked up just over 70,000 in chips.

Title: Re: The WSOPE-E IronHotLine
Post by: JungleCat03 on September 25, 2008, 01:22:51 AM
He's out sadly.  I watched the hand take place and he got his money in good with Q -J-T-6 on a Q-T-7-6 board, called by Robert (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=723) Williamson III (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=723) with K-K-K-J.

We were all hoping for a blank, but sadly the case King fell on the river to bust Ironside.

Just shared a cigarette with him. He's tired, disappointed but glad he got his money in good for a $40,000 pot, even if the gods weren't with him today

id like to nominate Iron for the "Blonde Hall of Fame"

not for how he played in this event, but for the way he pulled the whole of Blonde Poker together and got the whole forum to stand behind him. Now i dont know if the number of backers he had is a record or not but im sure he deserver praise for just the efforts of getting the money collected.

Im not sure if many people could of done what Iron has achieved id be suprised if its more than a handful that could of raised so much money from so many people.

We all know the efforts Iron has put into Blonde since day one and im just glad we had a chance to thank him for his efforts.

Hi Ironside,

Just wanted to say Hello and gg - that 5 minute break on the (admittedly red-carpet feeling) balcony overlooking Leicester Square was the only glimpse I saw of you.  We updaters all get buried in one specific corner for the day and I didn't get to report on your hands.  But next time!

id like to nominate Iron for the "Blonde Hall of Fame"

not for how he played in this event, but for the way he pulled the whole of Blonde Poker together and got the whole forum to stand behind him.

Great post.

I don't even know what a burleasque club is. Is it a place where fat blokes go?

Yeah...to watch skinny chicks (wearing not much) dance.  Oh wait...pretty sure it's fat chicks in Burlesque clubs.  Have fun with that.
