Post by: Longy on September 28, 2008, 07:20:10 PM Raise the flop by more than a min raise, in fact given stacks i think i would shove the flop. The board is very wet plus you are getting to stack a bare ace a lot on this flop who may get scared off by lots of turn card.

Post by: pokerfan on September 28, 2008, 07:29:44 PM unfortunately for you the outcome will allways be the same no matter how you play this hand.in a freeroll comp with this holding u may as well push the flop as any bare A or gutshot is likely to call, the min raise on flop being called by k8 just shows the weakness of the field,

Absolutely no offence meant Longy, but maybe some of these terms, eg, 'the board is very wet' maybe a little above a beginner who plays in a free-roll.... And no offence Karl if your not a beginner! Good point to be fair, im a guilty of dropping into poker lingo quite a bit. Wet board = There are lots of draws on the flop, straights and flushes. As opposed to a dry board where there are not many draws possible. Title: Re: Was I unlucky or I played terribly wrong somewhere? Post by: ThatsSoMinusEV on September 29, 2008, 09:19:50 AM It's a freeroll. Just jam your chips in on the flop w +2 pair plus. It's really hard to comment on these kind of tournaments.

No problem, I'm an active poker player for only 6 months so I guess I am a beginner :) I got what he meant with ''wet board'' even with my average English :) Still, I couldn't believe ha had QJ giving him straight. I guess I should have raised more after the flop raise. |
