Title: Barcelona Heads Up Results Post by: tikay on May 17, 2005, 06:00:39 PM A few results from the Party Poker World Heads Up Championship in Barcelona.
Dave Colclough & Julian Thew have sent me these titbits through..... Title: Re: Barcelona Heads Up Results Post by: tikay on May 17, 2005, 06:01:06 PM Rumit....OUT

Title: Re: Barcelona Heads Up Results Post by: Ironside on May 17, 2005, 06:04:04 PM dont you mean carlo has finished first hand
surely they hasnt been enough time for him to play a whole match Title: Re: Barcelona Heads Up Results Post by: tikay on May 17, 2005, 06:06:26 PM And the Dave Colclough - Mark Banin clash was over VERY quickly.
Mark won the first hand, & with it 200 of Dave's starting stack of 5,000. Second hand, Dave has TT, Mark has AK, & ALL the chips go in pre-flop. The TT holds up, & Mark Banin is down to 200! They duck & dive for a few minutes, but the odds were too great for poor Mark to recover, & Dave Colclough eases through. Title: Re: Barcelona Heads Up Results Post by: tikay on May 17, 2005, 06:10:05 PM Behave Ironside.
The dancing Swede took early control of his match against Carlo, & though Carlo hung on for a good while, Larsson was never going to allow Carlo back in the game. Do not underestimate Daniel Larsson - he's mustard. Title: Re: Barcelona Heads Up Results Post by: tikay on May 17, 2005, 06:15:23 PM Thewy plays on Wedenesday afternoon against Per-Warner Svenson.
I believe Per is "big" online, where he plays as "dared", & is said to be extemely aggressive. Julian says he thinks it will be a quick match. Not as quick as my Blackpool match, methinks...... Anyone got any info on this Per - Warner Geezer? Title: Re: Barcelona Heads Up Results Post by: tikay on May 17, 2005, 06:22:19 PM More news from Barc......
Title: Re: Barcelona Heads Up Results Post by: tikay on May 17, 2005, 06:23:26 PM Richard Gryko is through. Title: Re: Barcelona Heads Up Results Post by: tikay on May 17, 2005, 06:27:05 PM Richard, a good mate, was playing another good pal of mine, Mark Bartlog. Mark is "Demian" on Stars, Richard is "raconteur" on Stars.
The match was effectively over when Mark's QQ failed to stand up to Richard's 4-3..... Thanks for the text Richard! Personally, I was shocked to see Richard had such a strong hand. He murdered poor Martin Farraghers AQ in Vienna with J-5. A right little Thewy, eh? Title: Re: Barcelona Heads Up Results Post by: tikay on May 17, 2005, 06:27:58 PM Or an apprentice At It Bradley maybe........
Title: Re: Barcelona Heads Up Results Post by: ariston on May 17, 2005, 06:57:42 PM Dared was one of the Boyband members sat playing 1000 a hand turnover in my room in monte carlo. These Scandie kids have no grasp on money whatsoever and are fiercely aggresive. Do not attempt to build pots Julian they will be built for you.

Title: Re: Barcelona Heads Up Results Post by: midgeure on May 18, 2005, 12:25:53 AM Per Swensson, known as Dared, one of the most succesful No Limit players on Ladbrokes, won the heads up tourney in the Aussie millions in 2004, wiped the floor with Layne Flack much to Phil Helmuth's dismay who had bet 20,000 aussie dollar that Layne would win
Title: Re: Barcelona Heads Up Results Post by: tikay on May 18, 2005, 08:39:30 AM Per Swennson (Svennson?) seems the perfect opponent for Thewy. Never been known to duck a challenge, brave as a lion, won't back down in the face of aggression, & will play strongly with any two cards, Thewy will give a good account of himself.
Seems like the perfect draw for the William Hill man. Title: Re: Barcelona Heads Up Results Post by: plplaya on May 18, 2005, 08:53:57 AM Yesterday was Ross and Ram in a grudge match, tommmorow will be even an even bigger grudge between me and Psycho Gryko. If there is anyone in the world we want to beat more it's each other. The sh-t talking in our pokering skills goes back a long way as does the grudge and chair throwing . :) I have a feeling Richard won't be smiling on camera again tommorow. Death to the weaker man!
