Proposal

My plan is to turn $2000 into $20000 playing the stars $20 180 player sit and go's. Having just moved house recently and starting to settle down i want to try and rebuild a decent bankroll on pokerstars, my cash in the warm up has helped with the start of my proposal as it is my half of the $2000 i will be looking for in by bankroll building quest. The remaining 50% will be sold as 1% $20 shares so for as little as 1 bunch of bananas (ok a large bunch) you can stake the monkey :)

I propose to build the bankroll playing nothing but 180 runner $20 sit and go's - these fill up quite regularly on pokerstars nowadays as they still feature at the top of the tournament tab in the stars main lobby. I will probably manage to play 4 or 5 in the evenings when i will be playing. My aim for the challenge is to build a bankroll but i understand that potential investors may want a quicker return on their money so my proposal is that on the final day of every month any profit that has been made will be transfered back into your stars account but that i will keep your original stake along with my original stake and my profit within the bankroll alloted to the challenge. In the event (hopefully not!) that i have a losing month then no money will be paid on the final day of the month and that a payout the following month will only occur once the previous months loss has been recovered.

All the 180 runner sit and go's are tracked on OPR and i believe that sharkscope also covers them (whether they cover them all i am unsure as i don't often use the site). You can see from my sharkscope graph that i have had success playing these $20 sit and goes as there is a noticable increase on my graph as i haven't really played that many sit and go's in my 5 years on the site.

As well as the 180 runner sit and go's also propose to play 1 of the $10 rebuy's on a sunday lunchtime for a seat into the sunday warm up on the sunday's when i will have the chance to play the warm up. I will never buy in directly to the warm up, i will only play it if winning a seat. OPR will actually record the result of the satellite but it wont log accurately the total buy in for the rebuys and add on - i will record the total staked though i the thread i intend to start during the bankroll building challenge.

*** I will play no other tournaments on stars during this challenge and therefore my results will be easily traceable on OPR *** I am making this proposal as it will help me focus in grinding out my bankroll playing games where i believe i have a larger edge over the rest of the field, rather than trying to spin up my bankroll taking shots at the big money tournaments on stars where one win would achieve the objective but where my edge (if any) is only minimal.

PM sent, some questions just to clear things up:

I assume the profits are a 50/50 split plus eventually stake back (thats implied but just clarifying)?
We have the same split of any warm up profits?
The staking ends when you have made an $18,000 profit, is that correct? i.e turning the $2000 into $20,000?
Will there be an option to review say every month and take back the stake, or is it locked in until the above criteria is met?
Have you ever took the entry fees from an SNG and ran to a bookies with it?
Generally, how many times are you prepared to reload in the warm up satelittes? Do you have a set system of say, no more than $30 in one rebuy or is it random?

I like the proposal, I think the stars 180 sngs are a superb place for a horse to grind and I kinda like the sunday warm up idea too.

One question though Matt, I know your original proposal says 1% = $20, so are you planning on paying all rake, or is 1% actually going to be $22?

Tell you what if there's not enough left you can have the 5% at face value as long as I never have to play £2 turnover ever again.

I think it's more of a spectator sport for me.

As tomorrow is the first of the month then that seems like a good time to start so then anyone who wants to track my results on OPR will find it easier - any result that appears on there from tomorrow will count in the bankroll building. I will be posting on a thread on the online section and will be "searchable" on pokerstars at all times so people can see which tables i am playing on. i wont be playing every night but when i do play i will try keep results up to date as much as possible :)

and you can abuse me as much as you want - i am thick skinned i have plenty of fur

The first month comes to a close and thanks to a couple of cashes on the penultimate night means that it ends in profit so all monkey stakers - albeit a small one but then as the saying goes "from small acorns giant oak trees grow"

I'll PM all stakers over the weekend to find out the best way to refund winnings, hopefully a trend that will continue in the months to come :)up
