Title: Political Compass Post by: Rod Paradise on October 03, 2008, 03:59:55 PM Just for interest, there's a mutiple choice test that attempts to plot your political leanings (as left & right aren't enough).
I've done it and came out with: (http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm7/rod_paradise/rodcompass.jpg) Which compared to: (http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm7/rod_paradise/headsofstatecompass.jpg) Makes me like Ghandi, without the skinniness, or the pacifism obv. We've a similar hairstyle though... Though when I look at it more like an Anarchistic version of Stalin, Take the test: http://www.politicalcompass.org/index (http://www.politicalcompass.org/index) Title: Re: Political Compass Post by: Claw75 on October 03, 2008, 04:05:45 PM did this a few years ago and was pretty similar to you Rod. will give it another go and see how much more conservative I've become in my old age ;D

Title: Re: Political Compass Post by: rex008 on October 03, 2008, 10:24:45 PM I've done this before, and I came out somewhat southwest of Milton Friedman, so about the only righty on here so far. Freeish market with do-what-the-hell-you-like libertinarianism. Pretty correct for me. Although I've voted libdem once in my life as they're mostly very pointless (IMHO).

Socialists like Mahatma Gandhi and Robert Mugabe would occupy a less extreme leftist position. Margaret Thatcher would be well over to the right, but further right still would be someone like that ultimate free marketeer, General Pinochet Mugabe a socialist?..guess he never quite grasped the basic Socialist idea then lol I'm Economic Left/Right: -4.75 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.62 close enough to Ghandi to be considered a lefty, I guess. Also close enough to Ghandi to realise that this whole political compass thing is a load of bollocks. Title: Re: Political Compass Post by: Grier78 on October 04, 2008, 03:38:22 PM Mugabe a socialist?..guess he never quite grasped the basic Socialist idea then lol His redistributive land reforms were socialist, just not in the good way.
