TOURNAMENT PRIZES AND SEATING

Prizes and entries are non-transferable.  APL will not support or facilitate any form of deal making in an APAT event.

That was a quick final, wp all.

Sigh

In APAT National Amateur events that remains the case

This was a Pro Am where entry was open and therefore players quite able to deal if they so wish. Obviously the above was written before the advent of the Pro-Am event, and other innovations to the APAT Schedule, where we are continually developing APAT.

We mentioned the possibility of deals beforehand, only right if Pro players are playing for livelihood considerations

I totally agree with deals, but still dont get why deals cant be done in any apat event.
But thats just my own opinion.

I totally agree with deals, but still dont get why deals cant be done in any apat event.
But thats just my own opinion.

As Rich has already explained, in APAT Amateur Events, we have always had a policy that these are National or International Amateur Championshiops, played for a Title & a Trophy, so we don't consider Deals appropriate in such Events. Over 2 Seasons over APAT Amateur Events, the players have supported this Policy 100%, & I know of only one instance (and we've run about 15 0r 16 Live Events) when someone suggested a Deal, which was quickly rejected, & in good spirit.

This Event was our first Pro Event, & we were quite open & clear from the outset, that in this format - Pro Poker - Deals were absolutely fine & dandy by us.

In fact, before the Final started today, in my Pre-Final Blather to the Players, we reminded them they they were free to do such deals as they wished to do - we only asked that they negotiate in good spirit.

There is quite a difference between a National Amateur Championship, & a Pro Event, & they require a different approach. Most players easily understand this.

It helps muchly that they can see that APAT have facilitated a Pro Tourney with a decent structure, no Reg-Fee, & Added Value to the tune of $8,000. Not bad for a £300 Event.
