Title: bad spot to 3bet
Post by: Cf on October 20, 2008, 02:35:51 PM
Alea £30 second chance

Blinds 100/200

No players involved in pot have used their rebuy

Hero (5000 stack) dealt JdTd

Villian A raises to 600
Hero raises to 1800 (Villian A was a somewhat loose player, this has been my first 3bet)
Villian B goes all in for ~15000
Villian A goes all in for ~10000
Hero ???

Am I committed to calling this now?

You have to put in 3200 to win a pot of 15000 with a rebuy to come - you have to call this.

With a rebuy to come you shouldn't be raising 1/3 or your stack and folding to any shove.

BTW, loose players don't generally fold to 3-bets in the rebuy part of a comp - even if he just calls, you've put a third of your stack in with Jack-high.

He's loose in that he'll attack unopened pots or when checked too, but I'd seen a few occasions where he folded when he was played back at.

Not only was this my first 3bet but I think it was the first one on the table for the night, so i'm hoping for it to get the respect it (doesn't) deserve :)

So he's aggressive then, not loose...

It's a £30 double chance - people don't like laying hands down pre-flop once they've entered the pot.

And you're still in the double-chance period - 'first 3-bet of the night' doesn't really mean a lot.

You did an unnecessary bluff and are now priced in to call.

Haha

Yes, I obviously called. I only posted this on here because a couple of people suggested I fold.

I was up against AA and KK, and flop an OESD+FD but missed both of them :(

And yeah, loose aggressive is what i was going for.
