I wondered what some of the regulars think of my river blocking bet here. Wasnt sure if to check call a bet or try to lead out for the 3rd time. The player was pretty tricky and had called me a few times in position but hadn't really got the better of me until this spot. Title: Re: Bloking bet/spewing chips? Post by: Longy on October 26, 2008, 11:32:10 PM I think I check this river and then see what he bets on the river, i fold to a bet most of the time without a read.
Title: Re: Bloking bet/spewing chips? Post by: thetank on October 27, 2008, 01:40:26 AM I think he's got a perfect spot for a bluff raise here, your bet doesn't block anything.
I probably check call river. Title: Re: Bloking bet/spewing chips? Post by: sovietsong on October 27, 2008, 07:42:27 AM Looking back i think I was inviting the shove. I passed but didnt know where I was to be honest, so the $8 was just a waste.
Title: Re: Bloking bet/spewing chips? Post by: GreekStein on October 27, 2008, 02:27:11 PM I don't think putting a blocker or any sort of bet on this river is worthwhile. You can check call and lose the same amount as your blocker would have been anyway where your hand could be good some of the time. Otherwise he's unlikely to value bet a ten there but the board has rolled out nicely for him to bluff if he thinks you can fold an overpair or A-T type hand.
