Title: What do you do here?
Post by: Chompy on October 27, 2008, 12:54:14 PM
Starting stack 7,500, blinds up to 150-300, no antes, average stack 10,000. It's your BB, you have 5,200.
Multi-dimensional player makes it 800 from early position, folded round to you. You look down at KK...

Re pop his ass to 2600, insta call when he shoves, give dealer a sneeky low 5 under table when he turns over JJ, curse when he rivers a J, go to bar and buy everybody a Vodka Lime and Lemonade then retreat to the cash table!!

2,600 is a tricky amount if he flats and the A falls, smaller raise or get it all in, looks weak, he probs calls with any medium pair upwards or AK/AQ

Option A - I'd nearly be inclined to flat call and hope for a rag board with no A.  If the A hits the flop, you can get out of the way and still have chips to play with.  No point in re-raising because you're tossing half your chips in the middle and pretty much committed to tossing the rest in on the flop regardless of what hits.  Just me own we opinion on it anyway.

Option B - Shove the lot in pre and pray.

Min-raise - shove the flop.

2222 to go, cause a scene when this bet is not allowed and say you only want to call then. Angle shooting ftw.

i doubt tht in a random live torny we make he fold out all the hands we have crushed, always looks dodgy when ppl make weird 3bts for like 50% of their stack.  just jamming is std and will just make him think its a resteal and snap off regardless.  He has like 17x ffs!

Multi-dimensional opponent had a similar stack. Anyway, I just called looking to play the double-up game, knowing that he'd probably bet his usual amount of 1000 on the flop, which he did.
He had  Ac 9c on a  9s Tc 4c flop. I moved in he called, bye bye me.
