CO folds Villian raises to 60p on the button (Villian has been playing quite tight so far) Hero calls in SB with Ad Th BB calls Pot: £1.80 Flop: Qd Td 6d Hero checks BB checks Villian bets 60p Hero calls BB folds Pot: £3 Turn: 5d Hero checks (this was a stupid check) Villian checks River: Qh Hero bets £2 Villain raises to £8 and is all in Is this an easy pass or should this be a call? I would also re-pop pre-flop, A 10 is massive 4 handed... Again on the flop i'd be raising rather than calling, mid pair with nut draw against a button continuation bet, the turn check i dont mind actually first to act assuming you think he'll fire again...

I use to raise the flop but i think this is a mistake, as we fold out most worse hands and get called by most better hands. Simply having 2nd pair top kicker is a biggish hand in this spot, we might fold Jh Js or something but that is such a small part of villians range. Title: Re: Call the river shove? I usually would raise here, but in this instance decided not to.
Villian is quite a straightforward player, but is capable of making bluffs. In this case though I simply didn't think he was bluffing. He usually bluffs after people check to him, not when they bet into him. Further, not to be big headed, but I was well chipped up at this point and pretty much in command of the game. For him to raise here I decided he had to have a real hand. So, what does he have that he's shoving on this very scary looking board? Trips? Possibly, though given four to a flush and a paired board this is a questionable move. Flush? Possibly, though given he hasn't got the nut flush, and the board is paired this is a questionable move. FH+? Likely. QQ/TT/66/QT are all candidates for a preflop raise. The flop bet is a little small if this is what he has but still makes sense. After I just call he's worried when that diamond comes down and checks. Then when I come betting on the paired board he's happy to raise all in. His action fits this hand perfectly. Having come to this conclusion I called anyway and was shown 66. I knew this was a horrible call as soon as I made it and was so annoyed at myself as having worked it all out I then went completely against it and called anyway. Oh well...
