Title: backhanded harrys slap on the arsene?
Post by: turny on October 29, 2008, 02:02:54 PM
so will the harry redknapp influence be enough to guide spurs to a win over their dreaded rivals?

whats your views and whose betting on what?

i think Redknapp will do great at spurs and get them out of trouble, cant see spurs winning tonight but wouldn't be surprised if 1 goal settles it, a very hard fought 0-0 , no cert but 18/1 on betfair looks far to big

Well apparently Spurs can't beat Arsenal ladies :) so I fully expect them to get stuffed tonight with the Gooners getting a few goals.

It's interesting that Arsenal have Spurs tonight with the Harry factor, whilst Liverpool have Pompey tonight with the Jimmy Nail factor.  I would have thought that Spurs will be buoyed by Harry's arrival (after all it is the same players, although maybe playing in a different formation) and so the game will be tougher for Arsenal than it they'd played it a week ago.

Not sure how it will affect the Pompey players, but whatever, we then have Spurs on Saturday anyway.

The other major match of interest is the Hull v Chelsea.  Amazing that Hull are even given in a chance in this game - not many would have thought that at the start of the season.  Can't see Chelsea losing though, and a draw should be the best that Hull could hope for.

Arsenal and Chelsea to win.  Liverpool in a frustrating draw.

Will be over the moon with a point, But I cant see any further than a 3 goal win for the goons.

At least while Gomez is in goal the gooners are going to get plenty of chances. Top goal from Bentley though.

The guy is an absolute catastrophe. Not only for the goal but for Walcott's chance previously.

Robinson tailored his disasters to once a week or two. This guy cant limit them to once a half at the moment!

He is a far superior goal keeper then Robinson and Almunia, that is for sure.

The first goal wasn't his fault. Watch it again and then after Hutton loses his man, Jenas gets in Gomes' way, then get back to me.

Great game. Superb stuff.
Bentley's dancing and Jamie Redknapp's celebrations were pretty funny.
One of the best feelings in football, getting stick and then late on being able to give it all back.

I love it how Gomes gets all the stick from Spurs supporters at the moment..the entire team was shyte for months and that obviously doesn't help the goalie. There wasn't one decent player in the Spurs team for weeks, yet Gomes gets the blame...how easily people have forgotten just how shit Robinson really was at one stage.
Once Gomes gets settled at Spurs he'll do a great job...he was the same at PSV for the first few seasons and after that he became a legend. The guy needs a bit of confidence..something Ramos obviously didn't instill in any of his players and Redknapp just might as he is a good man-manager.

While the novelty draw of a new stadium will mean Spurs will definitely fill it for a couple of years surely using 'season ticket waiting lists' is pretty risky. 5 years away at least anyway?

Cant believe anyone can defend Gomez! Top class keeper just dint ever look as bad as he has.  The defence have no confidence in him which only makes things worse. LOL at benchmarking him against 'Aluminium' too, he would be very lucky to make the top half dozen in the league, if not top half.
