Title: Pre paid Visa cards?
Post by: Jim-D on October 30, 2008, 10:21:29 PM
Just wondering if these are a good idea for use travelling abroad?  I'm off to the states next week and am yet to sort out my currency and was wondering if it could be good to load a wedge of cash onto one of these as i dont have a credit card and travellers cheques are a pain in the ass

Thanks
Jim

I have to pay for two sessions of dialysis when I'm out there ($510 a pop). They won't accept cash so flex account isn't an option. I think I have two alternatives, pre loaded Mastercard or let c/c company know I'm going so they don't block the transactions on my normal c/c while I'm there?

PS

I really wish I'd prepaid when I booked holiday in May Currency fluctuations mean its now 20% more expensive :(

Flex account has a visa on it, so should be able to use it

Yes just checked my latest card, thought it said Switch but does say VISA. Just need to check if clinic treat VISA credit and debit cards  the same.
