Title: Re: Badugi Post by: snoopy1239 on November 19, 2005, 10:40:07 PM some very helpful responses there. :D
It's triple draw lowball played with 4-card hands, with the distinction that any hand with four different suits (known as a "padooki") automatically beats any hand with two or more cards of the same suit - KsQhTd8c beats 2s3h4d6d. Aces are low and straights don't matter, so the best hand is A234 of four different suits. The one thing that varies from game to game is how to treat a 4-suited hand with a pair (or two pair or trips). There are three possibilities: 1. Some people play that it counts as a padooki. KsKcJd3h beats Ah2h3c5s. 2. Some people play that if no one has a 4-card unpaired padooki then you compare the best 3-card hands, with 3-suited unpaired hands beating all other hands. AsAc2d3h beats Ah2h3c5s. 3. Some people play that if no one has a 4-card unpaired padooki, then you compare hands by standard lowball rankings. KsQsTd8c beats AsAc2d3h.
