Title: Tonights Champions League
Post by: chrisbruce on November 04, 2008, 04:15:28 PM
Chelsea v Roma

I think Chelsea are a massive price at 11/10 .

On the +ve side -
Scolari has got them playing good attacking football and they will be going for the WIN to secure qualification to the K.O. stage
Drogba is back
Roma have not won a game in the last five matches and are currently 17th in the Serie A table
Financial problems at the club are rife and there is talk of them having to sell some of there top players

On the -ve side

Roma is not an easy place to go and get a result
Chelsea only just beat them 1-0 at Stamford Bridge

My gut feeling is that Chelsea players are a different league have the experience to go to difficult places and get a result.

+1

Made up for the penalty we should have had earlier.  No way was the one at the end a penalty though.

I agree, Jim Beglin may have played the game, but he's got a terrible lack of knowledge of the laws of the game, particularly handball.

I think his first rule is 'Liverpool advantage at all times'.

What about Deco's sending off?  Slightly comical, unless you're a Chelsea fan of course.

shocking decision! since when has trying to take a quick freekick and keep the game flowing a bookable offence???

chelsea were poor tonight but hopefully not to much damage done regards the group and we can still qualify pretty soon.

good to see drogba back, anelka was a waste of space and those raving cos he scored a hatrick saturday dont know what they are talking about. 2 of his 3 against sunderland i could of scored with my cock!!

Went to the Arsenal game last night as I have a mate who works for them who has a spare season ticket. Absolutely shockingly bad game obv but still, it was 0-0 and yet, with 5 minutes+injury time left a huge part of the crowd started leaving.

By the time the final whistle went the ground was half-full. If Arsenal were 4-0 up or down I could maybe understand it but 0-0? Do Arsenal fans always show such devotion to their team?

Title: Re: Tonights Champions League

Supporters from all clubs do that.  They're trying to beat the traffic, or something.  I've never quite understood it.  If I've paid for a ticket, I'm going to get every last sodding penny's worth out of it, even if I'm not enjoying the game.

Title: Re: Tonights Champions League

we look a decent side when Gomes doesnt have a shot to save LOL

And if Bent can continue scoring I will happily admit i am wrong about him.  I want to be wrong, I hope I am wrong.

I think its fairly obvious now that the players simply werent playing for Ramos, and wanted shot of him ... I dont like that at all.

This would not have happened at Highbury.
