Just watching the old boys (& girls) march past The Cenotaph and I've gotta say it's bringing a lump to my throat. They must have some stories to tell between them.

I'd just like to say thank you to all past and present servicemen and women.

Also to my Dad who served in the navy in WW2 and now sadly diminished - I'm proud of you.

My grandad has also passed away, he never served on the front line, but he did do an essential job of drving trucks in North Africa keeping the troops supplied.

A big thank you to them all, maybe one day we can get rid of war.

I went to watch the Remembrance Day parade in the Luton town centre as a matter of course and as always, it causes an odd resurgence of buried pride. Having come from a long line of servicemen and women, many of whom having fought in both WWI and WWII, it is part and parcel of my life to give thanks to those that gave their lives for our freedom. It is touching to see those men, now old and brittle, dressed in uniform once more to march down the high street if only for an hour or so.
