From your william hill page;

Quote
Rake is standard for the industry

I though industry standard rake was max $3 per pot whereas on crypto pound tables they take up to £3. Has that changed or am I wrong?

Also this made me PMSL, thank you :D

I believe the standard rake comment was made due to the percentage taken.  But, you're absolutely right, the difference between £3 and $3 is pretty big.  We'll change that, thanks.

I hear differing opinions on Crypto.  Some players just won't play anywhere else.  You can always give us your user review :)

I would consider £3 would be standard for any site that offers a Sterling table. And if my profits are in big Pounds instead of little Dollars, I like that too!

You don't get it do you? Maximum rake is $3 on $ tables £3 ($5.10) on sterling tables. That eats into your profits whatever currency it is in!

Redsimon, I fully "get it" thank you. I was referring to a Sterling table when I mentioned £3. If I put £100 in, suffer a £3 rake in a big pot and leave with £150 next hand, I am very happy. More so in fact than if I entered a $ table with $100, suffered a $3 rake in a big pot and left next hand with $150. Same percentage, bigger actual. Suits me Sir! I'm not too fussed about about the pedantic end of poker, just the profits I make from a table.

Comparing 100 pounds to 100 dollars is illogical.
A pound is worth more than a dollar.
If you put £100 in, suffer a £3 rake leave with £150 then this can only be fairly compared to buying in for $171.5 winning a $88 pot after paying rake of $3 cashing out with $259.5

Would you rather have £150 or $259.5.
I know which one Redsimon would pick (Hint £150 is worth $257.4)

He's not trying to diss you, just point out the error in playing on sterling tables with a £3 rake so you don't get ripped off.

Thanks Tank, I edited my reply but I needn't have as you have it up. It's a good thing I don't trouble the max end too often!

There was some debate on this a while back, the argument for playing the £ tables was something along the lines of:-

the people that play these tables obviously don't know too much about what they are doing and are usually good prey for the sharks, i.e. they are naive :) so the better players will play these tables from time to time in the hopes of easy pickings.

I missed that debate.

I think it's true of the bad beat jackpot tables on Party where you pay an extra 50c a hand. (Plus some EV from the jackpot.)
The play would have to be a lot lot worse to overcome a $2.10 a hand extra rake. My experience of crypto (2 years ago now so things will be totally different now I'm sure) was that that was not the case.
