Title: When to be quiet Post by: thetank on November 21, 2005, 06:24:06 PM I witnessed an interesting hand in the £200 PL Shootout in Blackpool last night that I thought I'd share with the forum.
7 players left, early level blinds. AA (held by a solid player) raises from middle position, gets 4 callers including QQ flat-calling from the button. Flop comes with two 8's and a deuce. AA bets, QQ set him in for all his chips and everyone else folds. AA retires to deep thought, worried by the two 8's on the flop, he feels he may have to lay down his aces. After a couple of minutes he holds his cards as if he is going to muck them and says "this is why I hate pot-limit" QQ replies "I had you from the start mate" Tipping off that he had a premium starting hand. AA puts down his cards, picks up his chips and calls. His hand holds up. I had seen AA play for a bit and believe he would have folded if QQ did not say this.
