Title: One day to pack a house - any quick fix solutions?
Post by: Ismene on November 24, 2008, 12:55:34 PM
OK chaps -

Have left it till the last minute as per usual and now have 24 hrs to pack up, as I am working the remaining days till the move.

Anyone got any quick fix solutions? - I know i sound incredibly lazy but am currently suffering from a rather irritating cold which means less exertion the better in my book. I would ask the other half but he is busy writing the most incredible diary.... http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=38341.0 if you missed it ;)

Hire a Transit tipper (About £90 per day) Park beneath bedroom window, throw everything through window on to lorry, drive to new location, tip everything off. (Including dog in dog kennel)

It works.I've seen it done.

LMAO particularly loving the tip method - it could be the way forward. If I'm at the G tonight you know that's what has happened lol

Golden opportunity to get rid of the model of the Starship Enterprise & the Louise Redknapp posters IMO.

That's your problem solved.  Now you only have to pack half of the house, so should be easy peasy and leaves time to go to the poker tonight.

when i moved a few years back, i bought a few packs of the heavy duty garden rubbish bags, they are very strong and big enough to hold a lot of stuff, 10 for a pound in a lot of shops, just threw all the unbreakable stuff, like like pots and pans, most stuff from the kitchen, books,i filled lots of bags like this and just taped them up, i only used boxes for
plates and stuff, made moving a lot easier and quicker, also a lot quicker to get in and out of house onto transit

Yes but who's pants? You could get more in a pair if Kev's than you could in 3 heavy duty rubbish bags.

Invite round bolt.

He clears houses pretty quick, will work at night, and is surpsingly quiet too.
